Review: Is The Eli & Ali Tush Swiper Really Worth It?

I first came across the Eli & Ali Tush Swiper when researching weird but genius gadgets for babies that are supposed to make parents’ lives a little easier. I remember thinking how nice it would be to not have to scrub the Desitin out from under my nails every time my 16-month-old baby got a diaper rash. If you’ve ever used a classic, sticky diaper cream, you know how easily it gets on everything, but how difficult it is to get off. I debated buying the swiper, but he got rashes so rarely, I didn’t add to cart.

Alas, two things have changed since then: 1. My little guy, now almost 2, deals with diaper rashes much more frequently, and 2. Getting a diaper on him is like going five rounds in the octagon with Conor McGregor. That means that any Desitin on my hands has been ending up on my kid, his clothes, and anything else in our vicinity while I wrestle him into a dry Pamper. And if you’ve ever tried to get diaper cream out of your couch cushions, you’ll know why, in my house, we call it the devil’s glue.

Then, one night, as I used an old toothbrush to de-Desitin my cuticles once again, the memory of this little nozzle came flooding back. I purchased one immediately. After using it for the first time, I texted all the moms I know who have kids in diapers. I doubt anyone will ever love changing diapers, but this thing made me hate the process a whole lot less.

Eli & Ali Tush Swiper
Amazon

Stats

  • Price: $9.99 for one, or $17.99 for two
  • Sizes: One for most diaper creams (Desitin, A+D, Boudreaux’s, Babyganics, and more), and a second designed to fit Aquaphor
  • Colors: Pink, orange, and blue
  • Who it’s for: Parents who use sticky diaper creams on their babies and toddlers, and who would prefer to do so hands-free.
  • Pro-tip: Lay down a wipe and uncap the diaper cream before you start to change your baby. After you swipe on the cream, lay the tube back on the wipe so the nozzle doesn’t touch any surfaces, and use the wipe to clean it once your little one is back on the move.

The materials

Of course, you don’t want to wipe anything questionable on your baby’s already irritated skin. The Tush Swiper is made of food-grade, nontoxic, BPA-free silicone. I’m no scientist, so I don’t know if BPAs can enter the body via a rash on the butt, but at least there’s no need to wonder this way.

The results

Our Tush Swiper arrived just before bedtime, so I carried it to my son’s room with us and screwed it onto the diaper cream tube (just remove the cream’s standard lid and replace with your new nozzle — so easy). As I mentioned, my toddler does not abide a diaper change, so after his many attempts to crocodile-death-roll away and getting him into position, I instantly knew I was in love with the Tush Swiper.

I hadn’t popped the clear lid off the nozzle, but it came off easily with one hand. And then, well, I squeezed out diaper cream and spread it on my little guy’s bum. No sticky mess on my hands, no unnecessary touching of butt cracks, and my son seemed less irritated by the smooth silicone than when I used my hands. The attachment also made a much smoother, more even layer of diaper cream, so it seems like it’ll protect his skin more effectively.

After we were done, the nozzle wiped completely clean with one baby wipe. I felt my quality of life improve, and promptly texted all my mom friends the Amazon link.

Pros & cons of a diaper cream spreader

Pros:

  • The nozzle and cap have a leak-proof design.
  • It’s flexible and smooth so it’s comfortable for my toddler.
  • The surface area makes it much easier to spread the diaper cream than using my fingers.
  • It’s dishwasher-safe if you want to sanitize it that way.
  • The cap stays on securely in my son’s diaper bag, but also comes off easily with one hand.

Cons:

  • The lid is clear, so it’s easier to lose than if it was brightly colored like the nozzle (we lose it occasionally when my son grabs for things around us to throw during a change).

The final verdict

Some days, it would be easier to put a diaper on a rattlesnake than my kid. Having the Tush Swiper makes it so much easier to keep him still while not getting Desitin on everything around us. It also keeps me from having to spread the cream with my hands, which always leads to scrubbing gluey white deposits from under my nails later. *Shiver.*

The product feels well-made and I don’t see how it could break or wear out over time. So as long as we can keep track of the cap, I don’t think we’ll ever have to replace it (which is good, because you won’t see me changing a diaper without it now).

The TL;DR

Moms of littles, if I knew you, I would’ve already texted you about this, but here it is: this is my new favorite baby product.

Had To Share highlights the products and finds that Romper editors and contributors love so much, we just had to share in the group chat.

Baby Name Trends 2023 & Top Baby Name Predictions

Choosing a baby name can feel like the ultimate responsibility. You scour websites and blogs, dig through books and magazines, hunting down that perfect moniker that transcends time (and is better than all the other kids’ names in class). But baby names don’t exist in a vacuum; in fact, they’re affected by nearly everything — pop culture, world news, celebrity antics, current and past naming trends, and parents’ own experiences. When predicting baby name trends for 2023, Romper investigated exactly what parents are searching for these days, and spoke with an expert who specializes in all things naming.

While the most frequently used names of 2022 haven’t been released yet, The Social Security Administration reports the top 10 names from 2021 for boys and girls are:

  1. Liam & Olivia
  2. Noah & Emma
  3. Oliver & Charlotte
  4. Elijah & Amelia
  5. James & Ava
  6. William & Sophia
  7. Benjamin & Isabella
  8. Lucas & Mia
  9. Henry & Evelyn
  10. Theodore & Harper

How might these rankings change in the new year? Here are Romper’s predictions for the biggest baby name trends of 2023. Spoiler alert: Beth is coming for Harper’s spot.

More baby names ending in ‘a’

Many of the most popular baby names of 2021 ended in a, according to The Social Security Administration. Certain sounds tend to trend because they make us feel one emotion or another.

“There are so many reasons why people follow certain trends: some are linguistic and have to do with sound, but more often than not, it has to do with emotion, and your emotional responses to particular sounds,” says Emily Rine Butler, Ph.D., director and instructional professor at the Dial Center for Written & Oral Communication at the University of Florida. Butler teaches an entire course on naming practices.

Some names in the top 10 girls’ names that end in ‘a’ are Olivia, Emma, Ava, Sophia, Isabella, and Mia. Let’s not forget Noah and Elijah, which obviously end in ‘h,’ but have the same sound as the rest (in linguistics, it’s called the schwa sound).

“Why are we seeing the As? Sounds that lift, like at the end of Olivia or Amelia, are considered more positive,” Butler said. “There’s this idea of certain sounds giving certain emotions, like Emily, Mia, anything with the long ‘e’ sound, your mouth goes into almost a smile, which is why so many diminutives include it – baby, puppy – it’s cute.”

New names ending in ‘a’ may catch on, and variations on those that are already popular may surge, particularly names that change that sound to the happy long ‘e,’ Butler said. For example, Elsa could become Elsie, or Sophia, Sophie.

Parents are also Googling names like these at high rates, with Romper seeing the most traffic to these name roundups:

A side note: expectant parents have also flocked to Romper’s collection of baby names that start with ‘T’ in record numbers over the last three years. So, don’t be surprised if you start seeing names like Thalia trending (fans of The White Lotus, we know you’re thinking of Tanya).

Western baby names

Yellowstone was the most watched series on American cable TV in 2022, Variety reports, and it may very well contribute to a new generation of cow pokes with Western-sounding names, including one fan-favorite character.

“I think there will be a resurgence of Beth from a Yellowstone effect, because the character embodies strength, but the name is considered very feminine because of its relationship to Elizabeth,” Butler says.

Romper’s collections of Southern baby boy names and Southern girl names saw huge leaps in their number of visitors from 2021 to 2022. BabyCenter also reports two other Yellowstone characters’ names — Rip and Kayce — have jumped up 300 and 500 positions in their popularity rankings. Dutton, Stetson, Wyatt, Waylon, and Walker also made notable leaps up the chart, the site reported.

So, if you’ve ever felt the call of the Wild West when it comes to naming your newborn, 2023 may be the year to saddle up and do it. If you happen to love a T name and a down-home moniker, consider Tex, Tatum, or Tilly.

Strong female lead baby names

With Beth Dutton in mind, parents may be drawn to similarly strong, beloved characters from this year’s biggest shows. The White Lotus alone is a goldmine for names ending in ‘a’: Lucia, Mia, and Valentina, and Daphne harnesses Butler’s forecasted long ‘e’ sound.

Wednesday could also have a moment thanks to the hit Netflix series. *Snap snap.*

Old people baby names

Coastal grandmother fashion and interior design took over TikTok this year, and in 2023, the Ezras, Edies, and Maes could pop up on the baby name landscape, too.

There’s no doubt that parents are searching for their perfect baby name in generations past. Romper’s data shows major increases in visits to our collections of classic baby names between 2020 and today:

Of course, there are countless name options new parents could borrow from centuries past. Butler predicts so-called “old people names” related to pop culture and nostalgia might stand out from the rest in 2023.

“We’re going to see more baby Ruths,” she said. “I think we’ll see the rise of Mildred, and anything associated with The Golden Girls: Rose, Blanche, Dorothy, and Sophia, which is already popular. It’s nostalgic, and nostalgia will always bring things back.”

If you’re looking for baby name inspiration from back in the day, revisit popular names from two or more generations ago. “Everything old becomes new again,” Butler says. “Who you see being successful can trigger the resurgence of a name, or having a phoneme in common with a name you like. I usually say, if you give it two generations, it’s new again.”

Slight variations on what’s popular now

Many parents like certain aspects of popular names — a sound, a letter, or a meaning — but don’t want their kid to have the same name as three others in their classes later on. So, they’ll look for something similar.

In 2023, Butler predicts fans of the currently No. 4-ranked Elijah might favor Ethan, those interested in No. 5 James could opt for Jamie, and all the No. 8 Lucas lovers will trade it for Lucian. Romper’s visitors have certainly been interested in same-but-different versions of the top 10 names of the year, with readers flocking to collections of names similar to Luke, James, and Evelyn.

Nature-inspired names

During the pandemic, people around the world turned to nature for solace — it was safe, soothing, and not the inside of your own home, for a change. It spawned many trends, from cottagecore fashion to mushroom-inspired home décor, and baby names were not exempt.

Between 2020 and 2022, Romper had hundreds of thousands of visits to roundups like:

Taylor Swift’s latest album, Midnights, happens to include the name Daisy May, so if you’re interested in natural-leaning, Southern-sounding options, she may have created the perfect one. If you’re looking for names starting with ‘T’ and ending with ‘a,’ Terra and Thalia are standout earthy baby name choice for you. Sierra, Dahlia, and Mira could be poised for comebacks, too.

Short, unisex baby names

Asa, Wren, and Quinn seem like far cries from 2022’s popular baby names, but some of Romper’s top-performing baby name collections from 2020 to 2022 focus on short, unisex monikers like these:

Popular baby names in the last 10 years have skewed longer, Butler said, but beginning next year, we may see them drop to fewer syllables as parents crave something new.

“Up until the mid-‘90s, people were liking two syllables ending in ‘n’, like Lauren. Now names have become what we’d say are more floral or complex as a reaction to that,” she said.

Astrological baby names

If you’re looking to the stars for hints of what your baby’s personality might be like, you’re not alone. Over the last three years, parents have flocked to Romper roundups of baby names based on their astrological signs, with these collections seeing the biggest upticks:

It seems like parents of future fire and earth signs are searching for sign-inspired names the most, but maybe water and air sign parents will join the fun in 2023.

Meaningful baby names

Butler acknowledges that some names will always be popular because of their religious, social, cultural, or emotional connotations. Of course, when choosing something as special as your child’s name, many parents look for monikers with special meaning.

In the last three years, three collections of special names have risen to the top of Romper’s baby name archive. These choices will have you in your feels, and some of them happen to align with other forthcoming trends.

Whether you like to keep with the times or steer clear of baby name trends altogether, keep an eye on these up-and-comers.

Ashley Graham Posts Cute Picture Of Life With 3 Kids

Ashley Graham is proving to be a mom who can juggle it all... literally! In recent Instagram post the model shares a look at what raising three sons is like. In the picture, Graham is in her pajamas, cradling one of her sons while the other two tug at her leg, also wanting mom’s attention. Graham is clearing the infant’s nostrils with NoseFrida, a popular tool parents use to clean their kids’ noses until they are old enough to do so on their own. “Octo-mom takes on a whole new meaning,” the 35-year-old captioned the picture. The down-to-earth, relatable stance is one all parents of toddlers can relate to.

“But you’re crushing it!,” one follower commented. Another offered a few words of encouragement. “Oh - and Also - you’re doin’ a good job, Mama!!! 👏👏👏 Hang in there!!! - The days are long…..but the years are short!!!”

Australian actress and model Yasmin Scott wrote, “How on earth did you breastfeed twins with a toddler! I'm struggling with 1 with a toddler.”

Graham shares sons Issac and twins, Malachi and Roman, whom she welcomed in January 2022, with her husband Justin Ervin. She told Romper in an October 2022 interview the inspiration behind her kids’ names was personal and spiritual. All of her sons’ names are Biblical, which seems fitting since the couple met at church.

“Malachi also is a messenger of God,” she told Romper about the origin of the twins’ name. “For us, meanings mean so much and we want our kids to have great communication just like we do. So: messenger of God.”

Graham recently spoke about her juggling as a mom of kids under the age of three. She called it an adjustment; from moving ( the couple relocated from New York City apartment to a New Jersey, shortly after she gave birth to the twins) to buying new baby gear. Not to mention the hassle of breastfeeding two infants at the same time.

“As a parent, you have your good days, and you have your 'Oh my god, I've made it through this day' moments,” she told Parents.

No word on if the couple plans on further expanding their family but as far as personal times, it seems those moments are far and in between.

“Spontaneousness doesn't really exist when you have three kids under 3, as far as date nights go,” she shared with Parents about her and Ervin’s quality time.

But hey! That comes with the territory when parenting a toddler and two infants!

How To Stream 'Minions: The Rise of Gru'

Bello! (That’s “Hello” for those of you who don’t speak Minionese.) Minions: The Rise of Gru is finally moving to streaming platforms to watch. Here’s what you need to know to get your villain on from the comfort of your own couch.

Rise of Gru is a prequel to the Despicable Me movies.

The 2022 movie starring Steve Carell, Julie Andrews, and Taraji P. Henson premiered back in July, seven years after the first Minions movie. It tells the backstory of 12-year-old Gru, who longed to be the world’s greatest super-villain. He tries to join a group of established super-villains called the Vicious 6 after they ousted their leader, Wild Knuckles. But when the interview goes disastrously wrong, Gru and his Minions have to go on the run with the Vicious 6 hot on their tails. Fortunately, he finds a guide and mentor in Wild Knuckles himself and discovers that everyone needs a little help from their friends, even the villains.

Minions: Rise of Gru premieres on Netflix January 2023

The movie, rated PG, will premiere on Netflix on Jan. 23, 2023, and will be on the platform until Nov. 23, 2023. Rise of Gru was recently on Peacock for four months until New Year’s Day.

Minions: Rise of Gru is the fourth movie in the Despicable Me series. It follows Despicable Me (2010), Despicable Me 2 (2013), and Despicable Me 3 (2017). The first three movies are streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Peacock.

Steve Carrell’s kids still love the Minions movies.

In a June 2022 interview with Screenrant, Carrell delighted in reporter Jezzer Reyes referring to the franchise as “iconic.” “It always feels very serious and wonderful,” he said in clear amusement. “[The success of the series] is great. You know, I love these. My kids love them. I started these when they were really little, and now they're not little at all, and they still love them. I think it just puts a lot of silliness and joy out there.”

He jokingly added what he would do if he had his own Minions.

“Empty the dishwasher,” he says. “When my wife and I wake up in the morning, whoever gets up first has to empty the dishwasher. And I always get up first, stupidly. So, I'm always emptying the dishwasher. And if I had Minions, they could do that before I wake up.”

And we haven’t seen the last of Gru and his Minions.

Because of course we haven’t! Another installment is happening, but we’re going to have to wait. Despicable Me 4 will premiere on July 3, 2024. Carell is returning along with director Chris Renaud and the original cast; Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Steve Coogan, and Pierre Coffin, who voices the Minions.

Since Despicable Me was first released in 2010, the franchise has grossed more than 4.5 billion dollars (and counting) according to TheNumbers.com and reported by SlashFilm. This impressive some makes it the highest grossing animated film series in history, outpacing older, similarly popular franchises like Toy Story, Shrek, Ice Age, How to Train Your Dragon, as well as runaway hits like Frozen.

Emma Roberts Shares Picture Of Son Rhodes On His Second Birthday

Happy second birthday Rhodes Robert Hedlund! Proud mama Emma Roberts recently took to social media to celebrate her little man’s big day and to post a sweet picture of her son. The duo rang in Rhode’s second birthday with a casual hang out session on the couch as they enjoyed each other’s company and checked out some views of nature’s beauty.

In a recent Instagram post, the single mom shared a cozy mother-son photo on the sofa to ring in her firstborn’s birthday. Rhodes was cute as can be, sporting long blond hair and festive patterned pajamas. The 2-year-old seems like quite the curious toddler, as he stood on the cushions and peered out the window in wonder. Roberts sat beside her adorable son and steadied his little body, as the two of them took in some serene trees. (Kudos to Roberts for actually matching the green foliage in her snazzy hunter green PJ’s with feather ankle trim.) “Happy Birthday to my angel boy Rhodes!!! I love you beyond! 2️⃣✳️❗,” Roberts captioned the post. Coming through in her real-life role as the cool aunt, Julia Roberts hopped into the comments section to gush about her family. “Love you both utterly,” she wrote with a red heart emoji.

Roberts is not the kind of snap-happy mother who goes crazy sharing pictures of her kid on social media, so this is a rare peek into her life as a single mom. Although the Holidate star is no longer together with Rhodes’ father, Garrett Hudlund, the two are on the same page when it comes to loving their little one.

Proud dad Hedlund also took to social media to post a slew of artistic father-son shots. “Happy 2nd Birthday to My Beautiful lil Boy Rhodes!!! You are truly, “Where The Roses Grow!” I Love You More than Anything else my eyes will ever see!!!,” Hedlund captioned the post. The actor shared a carousel of Rhodes and his outdoorsy life. In one picture, the toddler is being held up by his dad against a brooding blue sky. In others, he enjoyed farm life with windswept hair, chilled next to a guitar, and hung out on the dock of a lake while holding his dad’s hand.

Luckily Roberts seems to have that proverbial village every mom hopes for. She even received some pretty awesome parenting advice from her Scream Queens costar and “the proudest mother” Jamie Lee Curtis before she gave birth to Rhodes.

And while it’s great to take in the sage wisdom of seasoned moms who have been there and done that, nothing can take the place of following your own instincts as a parent; it seems like Roberts has great plans in store for Rhodes when it comes to the complicated task of raising a boy today. “What it means to be a man is being rewritten right now and I hope my contribution to the world can be raising an amazing boy who turns into an amazing man,” she told Marie Claire UK.

Since Rhodes will likely take after his bookworm mother, we’re betting he’s going to turn out just as smart and unique and talented as she is.

What Age Is HBO 'The Last Of Us' Appropriate For?

There’s a new series coming to HBO Max in January that is based on a video game. From that description alone, you might be thinking of some kid-friendly video game adaptations like Sonic the Hedgehog, Pokemon, etc. Nope. The Last Of Us is definitely not for your little kids, but it might be for the older ones.

A beloved video game gets a screen adaptation.

The Last Of Us on HBO Max is based by the critically acclaimed PlayStation game of the same name that was first released in 2013. In the video game, Joel Miller (played by Pedro Pascal of The Mandalorian) is a tough guy who has managed to survive for 20 years after civilization crumbled. He has been tasked with transporting 14-year-old Ellie Williams (Game of Thrones’ Bella Ramsey) across the country for an important mission. Their journey is riddled with encounters with “the Infected,” this game’s version of zombies, as well as raiders and other nefarious foes. Common Sense Media lauded the video game for “exceptional storytelling,” but did hit it with an 18+ rating for “lots of violence, profanity,” something parents can expect in the new series as well.

The violent, post-apocalyptic road trip is not safe for kids.

Joel and Ellie are out to save the world in this post-apocalyptic road trip series, but it’s no easy feat. They are frequently under attack and have to defend themselves from all manner of monster, and this should make for some pretty violent television– too violent and too dark for younger kids for sure. If you weren’t comfortable with your kids watching The Walking Dead, for example, this looks considerably darker.

Rating TBD.

While HBO Max has not yet released an official rating for The Last Of Us, it seems likely that it will be rated at least TV-14 if not TV-MA like The Walking Dead. While director Neil Druckmann has said that the series will have less violence, he also admitted in an interview that “a certain amount of violence” was needed to give the same feeling that fans of the video game experienced. Kids over the age of 14 might be comfortable watching the series as long as they’re not terribly bothered by zombies and the end of the world and violence, but anyone else should probably avoid.

When can you watch The Last Of Us?

The highly anticipated first season of The Last Of Us drops on HBO Max on Jan. 15 at 9 PM ET/PT with a movie-length first episode. There will be nine episodes in all coming out on Sundays.

While it’s probably suitable for young kids, we think this is the perfect time of the year to put the little ones to bed a bit early, cozy up in the safety of your own home, and watch a violent post-apocalyptic zombie series.

Kim Kardashian Says More Kids Are Possible

When it comes to having a fifth kid and maybe even taking a fourth stroll down that matrimonial aisle, Kim Kardashian is leaving her plans in the hands of the universe and is ready for whatever is meant to be. In a recent interview, the SKIMS founder and mom of four shared some thoughts on what her exciting future could look like, and Kardashian revealed that she’s open to having more kids if the right person were to come along.

The tea was spilled on the infamous Goop podcast, when Kardashian sat down with fellow celebrity mom Gwyneth Paltrow. “I’m obviously right at the end of that conversation,” said the 42-year-old star of The Kardashians after she was asked about the possibility of expanding her family. “I would have to have someone in my life for a while in order to make that decision. So, whatever’s meant to be will be,” she continued.

When Paltrow brought up the idea of egg freezing, the actress and wellness guru didn’t quite realize she was dealing with someone with multiple fertility journeys under her belt, having welcomed her two youngest children via surrogate. “I think embryos are the best way to go,” Kardashian schooled her host.

Paltrow also asked the entrepreneur point-blank if she would be open to tying the knot again. At first, Kardashian was a bit skeptical, but then admitted she’s “such a romantic” and could see herself getting hitched again. “I have this fantasy in my head, like fourth's time's a charm, it's gonna — it's gonna work out.”

The reality TV queen has been hitting up the podcast circuit lately and also opened up about how difficult coparenting with an ex can be. On a recent episode of Angie Martinez's IRL podcast, (which has been viewed nearly a million times in two days!) Kardashian broke down in tears as she kept it super real: “It's hard. S--t like co-parenting, it's really f--king hard,” she said. Kardashian shares 9-year-old North, 7-year-old Saint, 5-year-old Chicago, and 3-year-old Psalm with ex-husband Kanye West.

Hopefully if Kardashian does find true love again, we’ll all benefit from the most glam televised spectacle in the form of Kardashian’s final wedding. While no one has a crystal ball (and if Kardashian had one it would probably be bedazzled in crystals), we do have some theories about the potential bridesmaid aesthetic. Based on the current all-neutral dress-code requirement for her staff, we’re guessing that if Kardashian hears wedding bells one last time, she’d probably go for a carefully curated monochromatic bridal party with an inconspicuous khaki palette.

Missing Columbus Twin Found By Two Determined Moms

The case of Kason and Kyair Thomas, twin 5-month-old brothers who were abducted in their mother’s stolen car on Dec. 19, captivated not just their native Ohio but the whole country, fearing for the babies as temperatures across the country plummeted. While Kyair was found abandoned in a parking lot of Dayton International Airport the next day, his brother remained unaccounted for until Dec. 22, when the missing Columbus twin was found by two determined moms. Through a chance encounter, maternal intuition, impeccable powers of deduction, and grit, Shyann “Shy” Delmar and her cousin, Mecka Curry worked together to find the missing child and get him safely home to his family.

The two detailed their story, in a 16-part series, on Curry’s TikTok account. Curry begins with a simple assertion: “We are really just some mothers that were determined to find a baby.”

On Dec. 20, Delmar encountered a woman calling herself “Mae” at a gas station, selling toys. Delmar, preparing for the holidays, purchased some toys before giving “Mae” a ride to a store, completely unaware that the woman was actually Nalah Jackson, a suspect in the kidnapping of Kason and Kyair. The two exchanged numbers, and Delmar — who had filmed “Mae” at one point during the ride when the woman began acting strangely — didn’t think much of it until the next day, when she saw Jackson’s mugshots on Facebook in relation to the theft and kidnapping. At first, she couldn’t figure out why the woman in the mugshot was so familiar... but then it hit her. She shared her own video with some family members, including Curry, not wanting to call the police until she was “100% sure” it was the same person.

Curry, being a “top of the line detective” agreed — this was the woman wanted in connection with the missing children. That same day, “Mae”/Jackson called Delmar, who in a bit of a panic didn’t answer right away. The next morning, however, Delmar called Jackson to meet, along with Curry, to enact a plan to get the woman into police custody safely and stealthily. (The cousins were in touch with police throughout their subsequent interactions with Jackson.)

Initially, communication with the police — first the Columbus Police Department and then Indianapolis (IMPD) — was fruitless. The authorities weren’t grasping what the women were telling them: that they were with the suspect. After ongoing communication with IMPD and multiple trips to multiple stores (they hoped Jackson’s prolific shoplifting would attract the attention of security or law enforcement), the authorities contacted the women while they were in the car with Jackson. Curry pretended to be talking to a friend, but let authorities know exactly where they were driving so they could be pulled over.

Jackson was taken into custody on the afternoon of Dec. 22. The Indy Star reports that Delmar and Curry were commended by detectives in Columbus. “You guys did fantastic,” they wrote within 90 minutes of Jackson’s arrest. “Because of your help we are so much closer to finding that baby.”

But the cousins were not done: “Baby K,” as they called Kason, was still not found... and they’d found a clue in the back seat of their car where Jackson had been sitting: a bus schedule. When detectives didn’t answer the call about their lead, the pair sprang back into action, traveling the route themselves and thinking hard about any clues Jackson may have inadvertently dropped that could lead them to the missing Honda Accord and, in turn, Kason. They remembered that she kept talking about two locations: Indiana University and Papa John’s.

As soon as they pulled into the parking lot of Papa John’s, Curry saw the car. When she opened the door, she was alarmed by a “foul smell” and thought that the baby might already be dead. As Delmar went into a local business to alert law enforcement, Curry anxiously remained with the infant. As she screamed, she was relieved to hear the baby cry. The pair was also in touch with Kason’s family (they’d been in touch since Jackson was taken into custody).

The pair described the discovery as a “joyous moment,” and noted that aside from a need for a diaper change, Kason appeared to be healthy. (NBC4 reports that he was released from the hospital on Dec. 26.) LaFonda Thomas, the twins’ grandmother, has thanked Delmar and Curry — noting that what they did “took courage” — and told NBC4 that the return of the babies is the perfect Christmas gift. “This means everything,” she said. “My grandsons get to open up their presents simultaneously — not one alone wishing that the other was there. I’m so happy, I’m so grateful.”

Meanwhile, in their own retelling of the dramatic events, Curry and Delmar can be heard shushing their own “badass kids,” who are audible but off-camera. “Quiet, quiet,” Curry says, laughing. “Everybody wants to cry but everybody needs to go to their dads.”

Because even heroic super-sleuth moms are still, at the end of the day, moms.

Pregnant Behati Prinsloo Shares Nude Bump Selfie

What’s a pregnant mom of two to do in that quiet week after Christmas? When the kids are probably busy with their new toys and you maybe feel like doing something for yourself? If that pregnant mom of two is Behati Prinsloo, she takes a nude bump selfie and shares it on Instagram. And of course she is absolutely glowing.

Prinsloo and her husband Adam Levine are currently expecting their third child, who will make 5-year-old Dusty Rose and 4-year-old Gio Grace big sisters. The couple did not share an announcement about their pregnancy and have yet to share any details about when they are expecting or the sex of the baby when People announced that Prinsloo was expecting in September. Prinsloo did share one bump photo in a reel on Instagram that same month captioned “recent,” but otherwise the couple have stayed fairly quiet about their third pregnancy. In November, she shared a few more photos of her growing bump captioned “Baby #3.”

On Dec. 27, Prinsloo shared her most recent pregnancy update, and it looks like her baby bump is coming along nicely. The busy mom shared a series of “then” bump photos to document her pregnancy progression, including one with her daughter gently kissing her pregnant belly on the beach. She ended with a lovely “now” pregnancy photo.

The Victoria’s Secret model covered her more private parts in a green leaf but was otherwise going for the full monty.

Prinsloo opened up back in 2021 about how living through the pandemic changed her perspective on welcoming more kids with Levine. “I think it's just kind of where we are in our life. And with Covid too, I was just seeing [Dusty and Gio] together, I'm like, 'Maybe we should have a third just to have more kids,' because it was so sweet to see [them together]. But then I don't know. Never say never,” she told Entertainment Tonight at the time. Prinsloo also admitted that she would someday like to have five children, which would make this recent pregnancy just slightly over the halfway mark to her goal.

Levine and Prinsloo just spent their final holiday as parents of two, so why not commemorate that moment in time with a growing bump photo? Life’s about to get a lot busier for these two.

2023 New Year's Eve Specials You Can Watch With The Whole Family

What is New Year’s Eve without watching the ball drop? From New York and Miami to Disneyland, aside from the festive TV episodes, the 2022 New Year’s Eve shows bringing in the new year are always spectacular to watch, whether it’s from our TVs or if you’re lucky enough, in person!

Last year one of the most famous NYE specials, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, celebrated 50 years and the festivities continue at Cinderella castle. Down south, the country music capital of the nation will be lighting up their signature musical note to bring in 2023. And on South Beach, a signature girls’ night with a pop star and music icon is also going to be a family affair. The CNN crew is also getting in on the action with a few sober, responsible changes this year.

Nonetheless, no matter where you watch the ball drop, prepare to look forward to live performances from your favorite artists, and all of the hilarious and viral New Year’s Eve moments, without leaving the comfort of your home.

Below are at least five New Year’s Eve specials airing on Dec. 31 you can tune in to as we prepare to go out with the old and in with the new!

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2023

Ryan Seacrest returns to host the iconic New Year’s Eve party in New York City. Also joining him will be his co-hosts: Liza Koshy, Jessie James Decker, Billy Porter, D-Nice, and Ciara. Last year, millions celebrated the 50th anniversary of Rockin’ Eve, but this year’s celebrations will have a bit of pixie dust on it. Disneyland will be the inaugural host destination. Performances will include Halle Bailey who will sing her rendition of Janet Jackson’s “Together Again”, Shaggy, Wiz Khalifa, Maddie & Tae and The Tantrums. The festivities are also going back to Puerto Rico with Roselyn Sanchez as co-host and the finalists in the POWERBALL First Millionaire of the Year returns for the first time since 2019, for a chance to win $1 million!

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2023 will air on ABC on Saturday, Dec. 31 starting at 8 p.m. EST. and will keep ringing in 2023 until 2 a.m. EST. You can watch it live on TV or on the ABC website and app.

New Year’s Live: Nashville’s Big Bash

If you are a country music lover, this NYE celebration is for you. Tune into the party in Nashville with Grammy-award-winning, country stars Jimmie Allen and Elle King will host, along with Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith. There will be fireworks and instead of a ball, there will be a Nashville Music Note Drop at midnight. The 50+ lineup of performances will include Brooks&Dunn, the Zac Brown Band, and Kelsea Ballerini and take place across the city like Nashville’s Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.

New Year’s Live: Nashville’s Big Bash will air on Dec. 31 starting at 8 p.m. EST on CBS. It will also be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.

Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party

It’s a family affair! Miley Cyrus will be with her godmother Dolly Parton, in Miami bringing in the new year. The Hannah Montana alum announced the broadcast in a promo video released by NBC. Cyrus sat with Parton sat at a table adorned with champagne glasses in the video. “Miley’s New Year’s Eve is about getting glamourous and dressing your best,” the 30-year-old said. “Well, we do that every day. Don’t we, Miley?,” Parton replied. Miley smiled, “You taught me well.”

The first Miley NYE party took place last year. The singer was joined by Pete Davidson. “The inaugural Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party was an unqualified success and we know this year’s show will be just as spectacular, with plenty of surprises and lots of fun,” NBCUniversal exec Jen Neal said. “We can’t wait to get the party started.”

Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party will air live on NBC on Dec. 31 from 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. EST.

CNN’s New Year Eve’s Live

Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen will be in New York City’s Time Square co-hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live. Performances and appearances will include Usher, Kevin Hart, Ellie Goulding, Patti LaBelle, REO Speedwagon, Nick Cannon, Jenifer Lewis, John Stamos, Tenacious D’s Jack Black, and Kyle Gass, Jean Smart, Cheri Oteri, Ava Max, and more. At 12:30 a.m. ET/PT, Don Lemmon will take it over from New Orleans to help the Central Time Zone bring in the new year. Normally the hosts and correspondents would toast a glass and down a few shots at midnight, but this year, the network has halted that practice. CNN’s chairman Chris Licht has banned talent from drinking on-air and said he felt on-camera drinking eroded the credibility of the brand and “damaged the respectability they may enjoy among viewers.” Needless to say, every host in this special will be going into 2023 sober.

Watch CNN Year Eve’s Live starting on Saturday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. EST on CNN, Hulu + Live Tv and Sling TV.

Viral Video Of Prince Louis Giving Princess Charlotte Flowers Is Too Sweet

Prince Louis already has a reputation for being a bit of a maverick. After his star-making appearance at the Platinum Jubilee in June, royal watchers know to expect the unexpected from the 4-year-old son of the Prince and Princess of Wales. He might dance in his seat, sass his mom Kate Middleton, or do a complete about face and be a total cuddly sweetheart. During his first ever walk to church with the royal family on Christmas Day, Prince Louis kept his crown as the most surprising royal in the absolute sweetest way by being a true little gentleman with his big sister Princess Charlotte.

The youngest member of the Wales family joined other senior members of the royal family for the annual walk to church from their Sandringham Estate on Christmas Day for the first time this year. His 7-year-old sister Princess Charlotte and 9-year-old brother Prince George have joined their parents on the walk before, and now it was Prince Louis’ turn to take part in the tradition. And boy did he ever love being included. He was seen running all over the place as his siblings walked sedately with their father and his mom laughed good-naturedly.

But perhaps the most charming moment was when he raced after Princess Charlotte to give her a little bouquet of flowers. Even dad Prince William looked charmed, smoothing a hand over Prince Louis’ head and smiling down at him affectionately.

Prince Louis, or “Lou Lou” as Princess Charlotte and Prince George call him, is truly the epitome of the baby of the family. Sweet and funny and seemingly without any sort of filter, he is so much the youngest that Kate Middleton has even said she can’t stop thinking of him as her baby. While his older brother Prince George seems to be a bit shy and reserved in public and Princess Charlotte is a little royal taskmaster bent on ensuring her brothers follow all of the rules of decorum, Prince Louis is happy to spin about and collect up flowers for his big sister.

Every family needs a little Prince Louis in the mix to keep things interesting. And to be surprised by an unexpected bouquet of flowers every now and then.

Anderson Cooper's Sons Sebastian & Wyatt Are The Cutest In New Holiday Photos

There’s nothing better than seeing Christmas through a little kid’s eyes and no one knows that better than Anderson Cooper this holiday season. The silver fox and father of two recently shared the most adorable pictures of his sons on social media, and it looks like the Cooper brothers enjoyed some sweet sibling bonding and had a pretty stellar visit from Santa.

With all the pitter patter of little feet running through his New York City pad, Cooper was likely a very busy dad this holiday season. And now that the he has two sons to care for that also means double the presents under the Christmas tree. The CNN anchor welcomed 10-month-old Sebastian via surrogacy with his former partner and current co-parent, Benjamin Maisani, and the couple also share 2-year-old Wyatt.

The two boys looked thick as thieves as they gathered in front of a whole bunch of presents by the Christmas tree for Sebastian’s very first Christmas. In the first photo, Sebastian looked up adoringly at his big brother Wyatt like he was the real celebrity in the household. The second snap showed the two siblings side-by-side in their amazing outfits. Wyatt was ready for Christmas in his red and white striped pajamas with green trim, and Sebastian was cute as a button in his navy and white sailor look.

“Wyatt helped Sebastian celebrate his very first Christmas,” Cooper captioned the post. Fellow celeb and fairly new parent Naomi Campbell was quick to drop a bunch of red hearts in the comments section, as she was likely celebrating the holiday with her little one too.

Cooper is no stranger to sharing his growing joy on social media since his children have come into his life. He has been known to post some bedtime snuggles or just fun moments of toddler life like when Wyatt was in love with his own feet.

It’s so wonderful to see the proud dad build his own family considering that he has suffered a great deal of loss in his life before kids. Cooper’s own father died of heart disease when he was just a little boy, and when he was 21, his older brother died by suicide. On a recent Father’s Day, Cooper reflected on his grief and how much gratitude he has for his boys. “For much of my life, Father’s Day was the day i avoided, pretending it didn’t exist, or that i’d forgotten what day it was. The pain of remembering was just too great. The loss of my dad, who died when i was ten, was so painful, and still is at times. But today I celebrated Father’s Day, remembering my dad, Wyatt, with little Wyatt and Sebastian and their Papa, Benjamin. I can’t believe how lucky I am,” Cooper captioned a touching Instagram post of an ice cream run with his oldest son.

In light of everything he’s been through, it’s really moving to see Cooper building such special memories with his kids and witnessing the affection that they have for each other as brothers. Hopefully after everyone unwrapped their gifts, they were able to pop by for a boisterous play date with Cooper’s bestie Andy Cohen and his brood of cuties.

Prince George's Christmas Painting Of A Reindeer Is Seriously Impressive

Ho ho ho from the royal family. Prince William and Kate Middleton have really gotten into the holiday spirit this Christmas, and of course they celebrated with their children too. The Prince and Princess of Wales released a very casual 2022 holiday card, Middleton hosted her annual star-studded Christmas carol service, and all three royal kids participated in caroling and a holiday performance at their new school this year. But just when you thought all of the festivities might have been over, the royal couple treated everyone to one last holiday treat when they shared an adorable reindeer painting made by a very talented Prince George.

The Prince and Princess of Wales took to their official Twitter account based at Kensington Palace to show off just how impressive their 9-year-old is with a paint brush in hand. The couple shared Prince George’s Christmas painting of a reindeer with some amazing details. Set against a dark blue sky with snowflakes falling down, the prince’s life-like reindeer even had a sweet little pile of snow on the tip of his nose and some cute little red birds resting on the animal’s antler and back.

Happy Christmas!” the proud parents tweeted along with an easel emoji and some credit for the budding artist.

Most Twitter users were pretty blown away by Prince George’s artistic prowess. “Kid’s got talent. That’s really good. Happy Xmas,” tweeted @VivianBercovici.

But of course because this is social media, where everyone is bothered and has an opinion, others questioned the originality of Prince George’s design by pointing to a similar stock holiday card of a stag also cavorting with some birdie buddies. “I wish these people would be honest and stated this was a copy/inspiration from this card,” tweeted @Daisy1158 with a bit of bah humbug.

Even if little George did borrow a little inspiration from an existing picture, we’re still pretty dazzled by his ability to recreate the piece. Let’s remember, we are talking about a boy who hasn’t even hit double digits yet! Plus, everyone knows that imitation is the highest form of flattery and all artists start off by practicing their craft and trying their hand at creating the works of others.

With so much chatter about “Nepo Babies” these days, it’s not surprising that this isn’t even the first time some doubters have chimed in about a little kid’s painting. When reality TV royalty Kim Kardashian shared North’s artwork on social media, some grumpy adults came for her too. “DON’T PLAY WITH ME WHEN IT COMES TO MY CHILDREN!!!,” began Kardashian’s social media message to set the record straight and call out some haters.

If Middleton is looking to channel some hardcore mama bear energy to combat those trolls who are skeptical of Prince George, she should definitely consider copy/pasting Kardashian’s clapback too.

Is There A Dog Show On New Year's Day In 2023?

For many animal lovers, there’s no better way to kick off the New Year than watching a whole bunch of very good dogs compete in the American Kennel Club’s (ACK) annual flagship event. With over 5,000 purebred dogs in all shapes and sizes, hailing from 50 states and 22 countries, this event is sure to be the most exciting one ever. Here’s when and where your family can unleash this competitive event that celebrates man’s best friend.

The AKC’s dog show will air on TV in 2023.

Dog lovers won’t have to wait too long to watch their favorite Shih Tzu or German Shepherd prance across the event’s infamous red carpet. The AKC’s 2022 National Championship will air on Jan. 1, 2023, on ABC beginning at 2 p.m. ET.

AKC executive secretary and spokesperson Gina DiNardo is set to host alongside sportscaster Carolyn Manno for the national television broadcast. From the most obedient breeds to the too-cute-for-words puppies, there’s an entertaining event in store for everyone.

The yearly event is also available to stream for for free.

If you’re a bit too partied out from the bubbly to watch the broadcast on television, you can also catch the show when it’s more convenient for your schedule (or whenever that hangover finally fades). The previously-recorded championship can also be streamed on-demand via the AKC’s website. With the click of a button, you’ll feel like you’re sitting right in the stands in sunny Orlando, Florida catching the doggy spectacular! You can download the AKCtv mobile app for your smartphone or stream AKCtv on your favorite device.

Don’t miss out on the diving dogs.

Who can resist watching a dog fearlessly dive into a body of water to retrieve his favorite toy? One of the fastest growing sports in the canine competition is Diving Dogs, and apparently any water-loving dog who knows how to swim and has a passion for fetching can jump on in.

The rules are simple and laid out by the AKC: “You throw your dog’s favorite toy into a pool while he waits on a dock about 40 feet long. On your command, he runs along the dock, flings himself off the end of it, lands in the water and grabs his toy. The goal? To have the longest jump possible, which could be as short as two feet for beginners, but could be as much as 30 feet for those more experienced!”

The 2022 AKC National Championship was held in mid-December at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. More than $150,000 in prize money was awarded this year, with The Best in Show winner receiving $50,000. If you’re dying to know which dog was named Best in Show (but don’t want to ruin it with the online spoilers) tune in to ABC on Sunday, Jan. 1 to find out who takes home the big prize.

Is Target Open New Year's Eve & Day 2022/2023? Here Are Their Store Hours

Planned or unplanned, a Target run is almost always a good time. (Until your toddler flings themselves on the ground outside the toy section, that is.) You can grab your favorite Starbucks drink, cruise around the Dollar Spot, stroll through the home decor aisles, or just make a quick stop in for laundry detergent when you run out. Thanks to Target’s New Year’s Eve hours, you can do all of the above on Dec. 31, 2022 before it’s time to ring in the New Year. And then, you can do it the next day, too.

What are Target’s New Year’s Eve 2022 hours?

Target stores will be open on New Year’s Eve 2022, so you can head to the store with confidence to grab anything you need last-minute to prep for the (long) night ahead. However, most locations will close by 9 p.m., a Target representative confirmed. So, it’s best to check with your local store for their exact hours if you need to make a run in the late evening hours.

What are Target’s New Year’s Day 2023 hours?

The morning after watching the ball drop isn’t always bright and shiny when you have kids (or when you drink too much Champagne), so if you need an escape plan — which, no judgement here — Target will be open New Year’s Day 2023. The retailer will be open for regular business hours, so you can expect the doors at your local store to open and close per their usual schedule.

Whether you forgot to buy a bottle of bubbly ahead of the holiday or you simply want to stop in and browse, you can head to Target for whatever you need this New Year’s.

These Organic Diapers Have Earned Rave Reviews — & You Can Subscribe To Save Money

I’m fully expecting my hypothetical future child to inherit all of my allergies, so when I find brands that create gentle, nontoxic, plant-based products, I take note. That’s why I was thrilled to hear about Healthybaby, which designed an organic cotton diaper that has earned rave reviews from parents and babies alike. Also great: The brand makes skin care products, cleaning supplies, and other baby-safe items that you can use well beyond the diaper years.

Healthybaby’s Award-Winning Organic Diapers

The Healthybaby diaper is designed to be sensory-friendly and free from chemicals and neurotoxins. They’re made with super-soft organic cotton and baby’s skin only comes into contact with plant-based materials including sugarcane and wood pulp that’s been FSC certified for responsible forest management. The diapers are also backed by the MADE SAFE non-toxic seal, and according to the brand, they’re also the first and only diaper to be verified free from the Environmental Working Group’s list of banned ingredients. And to top it off, they’re also OEKO-TEX certified to be tested for harmful substances.

What they don’t contain: Fragrances, parabens, phthalates, chlorine, and other potentially irritating ingredients. Healthybaby’s mantra is “fewer, better things,” and the brand seems to be living up to that with its ingredients.

Diaper Reviews

In 2021, Healthybaby’s diaper was awarded Best Organic Diaper by The Bump and Most Dependable Diaper by Good Housekeeping. On top of that, reviewers and their babies are impressed:

“These training pants are so soft that my daughter doesn't want to take them off in the morning. Really high quality. I only wish I knew about [Healthybaby] sooner!” - Ricky F.

“My daughter calls these diapers 'the soft ones' and prefers them over any other brand. Now that she can tell me what she wants there's no going back!” - Amy J.

“These are supreme quality diapers. Extremely soft and gentle for your child’s delicate skin. I also love the simplicity of the design. Best diapers on the market in my opinion. Worth every penny!” - Inna E.

“Our newborn had pretty sensitive skin so we tried several different brands. All of them left her with skin irritations around her legs. We swapped over to [Healthybaby] diapers and it made a world of difference! The diapers are the softest diapers we have used so far.” - Jason F.

Other Offerings

Award-winning diapers aren’t the only thing you can shop for on Healthybaby. For example, the brand also offers a plant-based balm that, frankly, I’m tempted to use myself. Designed for sensitive, eczema-prone skin, the balm is packed with a prebiotic complex to protect the natural skin biome, Manuka honey to strengthen the skin barrier, and papaya seed oil to reduce inflammation and soothe dry, itchy skin. The brand also makes moisturizing cream, laundry detergent, shampoo and body wash, and much more — you can shop all of their offerings here.

Review: Are Cadence's $14 Travel Containers Actually Worth It?

Anyone who has ever had to pack for an overnight trip knows how tedious the toiletry-packing step can be, and how, surprisingly, all those products you cannot part for more than 36 hours can take up so much real estate in your suitcase. Perhaps you are all too familiar with the travel-sized options from your local drugstore or have been using the same reusable travel containers for at least a decade (the very ones you’ve never properly cleaned), but I’m here to tell you there is a highly superior option: Cadence’s magnetic travel capsules.

Cadence’s capsules are these beautifully designed, delightful little pots suitable for traveling or everyday use. They come in a rainbow of aesthetically pleasing, sophisticated hues — their version of white and black, for example, is sand, a slightly off-white tone, and charcoal, a muted black. All the eight color options look good together, and you can choose to buy them as individual pots, sets of the same color, or mix and match any colors you favor. Not only are these TSA-compliant, 0.56-ounce leakproof containers a sensible size for holding at least a few day’s worth of essential toiletries (anything from shampoos to face oils), but they are also designed to hold small ‘things’ that could easily get lost in the abyss of a Dopp kit (rings and other small jewelry, pills, vitamins, packaged contact lenses, and more).

It’s most surprising and exciting attribute that really differentiates them from other travel containers, as practical as they may be: The pots stick to each other using some pretty sturdy magnets. This means all your toiletries literally stay clustered together, facing the same way, in neat, perfectly aligned rows that are both space-saving, and zen-inducing. You can simply pluck the entire mass of pods from your bag, lay it on the counter, and see what all your items are in once glance.

The design

On the inside, the sides and bottom of the capsule are rounded, so there are no angles products can potentially get trapped in. In other words, you won’t find yourself trying to use a too-wide finger to scoop the last bit of face moisturizer you desperately need from an angled corner within, and you won’t waste any bit of product.

The ergonomic hexagonal exterior makes them easier to grip to open and close, especially if your hands are lightly greased up from lotion or other product, and it means the capsules lock more securely together, than if they were shaped like cylinders.

The texture of the capsules are are slightly pebbled, which is quite nice, and keeps them from feeling too slippery. Yea, you won’t be disappointed in the “handfeel.”

The label design is truly ingenious. The labels, which are actually removable tiles, come in an array of pre-printed options (or blank), can be customized in any language (for an additional fee of $3), and are also magnetized, so you can easily swap them around if you accidentally put a product in the wrong pot, for example, or just like to switch up the colors for aesthetic purposes.

The colors are soft, matte — to put it plainly, they’re pleasing to the eye. And because they come in so many options, you’ll definitely find some options that suit you. Customers that opt to build their own set can choose the color of each individual capsule and label, and the specific label. (I, for example, opted to order all my skin and hair care essentials in sand, medicines and vitamins in petal pink, and jewelry in green). With time, you can keep building to your set, and still keep your entire kit cohesive.

Pros & cons

Pros:

Easy to clean, travel-friendly, versatile, made from recycled materials, aesthetically pleasing, and reliably leakproof.

Cons:

A bit on the heavy side due to the magnets (not noticeable if you only have a few, but collectively can feel surprising); expensive as far as reusable travel containers go.

The final verdict

Are they worth it? $14 does sound a bit steep for a travel pot when you can find something perfectly functional from Muji, Amazon, or the Container Store for a fraction of the cost, but these truly are in a league of their own. They’re brilliantly designed and really make packing and unpacking significantly easier. They’re much more convenient and a thousand steps up from a simple clear, acrylic pot.

And they don’t need to be relegated to your suitcase. They are great for everyday use. A couple pots (hand cream and pills) live in my purse, and it really feels like they hardly take up any space. In comparison, they’re about a-third the size of the travel-sized body wash I find myself buying on nearly every vacation, and a-fourth the size of the reusable shampoo container I used to use. Before, I easily filled two dopp kits when packing toiletries for the family (2 adults and two young kids). After I got a set of Cadence capsules, I probably cut the volume down by about a third. If I had more capsules, I easily would’ve fit everything in one bag.

The TL;DR

I’m definitely buying more.
