Pippa Middleton Is Pregnant, Expecting Baby #2 With James Matthews

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have a new little cousin on the way! Carole Middleton has confirmed that her daughter and Kate Middleton's little sister Pippa Middleton is pregnant and expecting her second child with her husband James Matthews.

“I hope to see more of my family than I could last year, including, of course, my new grandchild,” Carole, a businesswoman and grandmother of four said in a new interview with Good Housekeeping UK. Since the Duchess of Cambridge is not expecting a fourth child at the moment, one could assume that Carole is talking about her youngest daughter, Pippa.

Page Six was the first to report in December 2020 that the Duchess of Cambridge's sister is expecting her second child. She and Matthews, whom she married in May 2017, welcomed their first child, a son named Arthur, on Oct. 15, 2018. "Pippa and James are thrilled, it's fantastic news amid a difficult year," a source close to the family told Page Six. "The entire family is delighted." And in recent weeks, Pippa has been spotted walking around London with a “hint of a baby bump,” according to the Daily Mail.

While various outlets have reported on the news, including People and Page Six, Pippa has not made a statement, which is not entirely surprising as she does not have a public Instagram account. Additionally, a source told People in 2016 that Middleton was looking forward to settling down with Matthews, "having children and leading a quiet life."

Pippa rarely gives updates about Arthur, though she has shared a few. In a 2019 column penned for Waitrose Magazine, a publication for the grocery store chain in the United Kingdom, Middleton revealed that their son was "more mobile" and filled with energy. And throughout her first pregnancy in 2018, Pippa documented her exercise routine for each trimester in Waitrose Weekend. Who knows, perhaps a column about her pregnancy with Baby #2 is in the works!
