From Taylor Swift To Cristiano Ronaldo: 7 Recent Celebrity Engagement & Marriage News

Love is certainly in the air in the month of August, with many celebrity couples recently announcing their engagements and wedding plans. Some of the revelations came as a huge surprise, while others were eagerly anticipated by fans.

From chart-topping singers and acclaimed actors to celebrated athletes and the children of legends, these stars have been more than happy to share their love with the world. Here's a look at who they are:

Nevertheless, fans were excited about the news.

2. Prince Jackson & Molly Schirmang

Prince Jackson, the eldest son of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, has announced his engagement to his longtime girlfriend, Molly Schirmang. Concert Review: D.O. (Doh Kyung Soo) Charms M’sian Fans With Powerful Vocals & Cute Antics At “DO it!” Solo Concert

After a successful fan concert last year, D.O. (디오/Doh Kyung Soo/도경수) kept his promise to return to Malaysia! This time around, the EXO (엑소) vocalist brought his first solo Asia tour, "DO it!" to Axiata Arena, charming fans with his clear and powerful vocals and adorable antics. Here's a recap of what happened during the show:

The concert began with an introductory video before D.O. took the stage and performed "Do You Remember?" from his latest album, "BLISS". He then continued with the groovy "Nobody Knows It" and the vibrant "Wonder". Taking a quick break from singing, the idol did his first greeting of the night. During his speech, D.O. showed love for the fans and praised them for following the white dress code.

The show continues with a performance of the upbeat "Mars" from his "Blossom" EP, before transitioning to the more mellow "Where You Were" and "Simple Joys". However, D.O. then changed up the vibes to something more sultry, or "sticky", as he puts it, with the R&B-laced "Fit". He then continues building on the alluring mood with "I'm Gonna Love You",  from his debut EP, "Empathy".

While R&B is very much D.O.'s forte, the concert transitioned to brighter tracks, starting with "Popcorn". Without missing a beat, the singer then moved on to the bouncy "5 Minutes" and "Sing Along!". And speaking of sing-alongs, the concert hall turned into a karaoke for fans during the intermission. As the band played EXO's "First Snow", "Don't Go", "Growl" and "Love Me Right", the lyrics appeared on screen, allowing fans to sing together.

D.O. stepped back on stage as the band played "Love Me Right", showing off his clear vocals. He then sang another EXO track, "Peter Pan", before taking time to introduce the band members. As he spoke to fans, a stage prop came into sight, signalling the next performance. As he was getting settled on the prop, D.O. amused fans with his Malay, saying, "Korang, korang, sabar (Everyone, please be patient)" and "Jom! (Let's go!)".

The stage prop then lifts the singer above the stage to perform the romantic "It's Love" and the emotional "My Dear". Still sticking to the romance theme, D.O. then performed "I Do". He then took a break from singing to share what he had eaten since arriving in Malaysia: satay and fried rice. Unfortunately, D.O. hasn't had laksa yet at this time, but invites the crowd to grab a bowl after the show – before starting an amusing food-themed call-and-response.

After entertaining fans with the food chant, D.O. then begins performing a medley of comforting tracks: "That's Okay", "I'll Be There" and "Draw My Path". As it turns out, the song choice was deliberate, with the idol saying the tracks represent the messages he wanted to convey to his fans. He also included "In Another Life" in the line-up, highlighting the singer's affection and appreciation for his fans.

D.O. then introduced the "last" song for the evening, the soulful "Somebody" – but of course, the night isn't ending just yet. As the star went backstage to get ready for the encore stage, the fans started the first of two fan projects, singing along to "I'm Gonna Love You". After D.O. returned to the stage with "Rose", he made a short speech to praise the fans' Korean pronunciation and test their singing skills.

As he ushered fans to prepare for the photo session, he was surprised by the second fan project: a video featuring local EXO-Ls. D.O. was animated while watching the video, showcasing a variety of expressions. He also quipped that the video, more specifically the food shown, encouraged him to return to Malaysia. After the actual photo session, the idol closed the night with another performance of "Sing Along!", ending his concert on a fun note.

AniManGaki: VTuber Lucius Merryweather On His VTubing Journey & Possible Collab With Malaysian Creators

Lucius Merryweather is an award-winning Webtoon author and VTuber from Denmark. He made his debut in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and is the head writer and owner of Merryweather Media, a visual entertainment studio based in Tokyo that specialises in webcomics. He recently made his first public appearance in Malaysia at the 3-day AniManGaki event, held at The Mines Exhibition Centre.

Known for wearing a mask of his dog persona during public appearances, the creator took to the stage at a launch-day press conference to speak about his career, his experience in Malaysia, and some of his upcoming projects. Here are a few of the questions he answered:

1. For those who may not be aware of who you are and your journey, could you share what inspired you to become a VTuber?

Well, I've been writing comics for many years since 2012, and one of the things about writing comics is that it's kind of a lonely profession. Most of the time, if you're writing comics professionally, you're going to have contact with maybe an artist and an editor. Apart from that, you'd just be reading a bunch of comments on the internet, so it's not really a very social profession.

However, during the pandemic in 2020, when a lot of people were inside, I saw this new thing that kind of came up, seemingly out of nowhere, which was VTubing. So I thought I should try it out; I learned how to stream, installed OBS, got a nice model made by a Japanese artist, and finally, it felt like I was in front of the audience. I was not creating content that was in front of the audience. For the first time, I was the content and I've enjoyed it ever since.

2. Since this is your first time in Malaysia, what was your first impression of the country? Have you tried any local food?

My experience with Malaysia so far is very good; it's a very beautiful place. I love the vibe that Kuala Lumpur gives because I live in Tokyo, and in Tokyo, there's the reality that there's very little greenery in Tokyo but here in KL, there's a lot of greenery. There are a lot of plants everywhere, and it's very lively.

As for food, I've tried Nasi Lemak. I love that. That's like my favourite thing right now.

3. You travel all over the world for conventions. What was your reaction when you got invited to come to Malaysia for Animangaki?

Well, I've already been to Singapore, and many people there asked me if I wanted to come to Malaysia. And as a result, it's always kind of been one of those things I've wanted to do. I'll say that it's very warm here, but I've really enjoyed it so far. And I'm really happy that I got the invitation, it made me very happy.

4. How different are you from your VTuber persona from your real-life identity?

I think I'm very much the same person either way. Of course, I'm a little theatrical with my VTuber self. I mean, I am wearing a dog head, but I would say that there's not much of a difference.

5. Let's talk about your storytelling. In your world-building, it's actually incredibly detailed and immersive. How do you usually start when creating a new fantasy world? Is it the lore, or the characters?

Usually, I begin with the character, someone whose concept really captures my imagination. Take Bianca from "Clinic of Horrors", the comic I write. She's a nurse who dresses in bright coloured clothes, but her personality is muted and stoic, which I found to be kind of interesting. From there, I asked myself: 'What would Bianca be doing? She's a nurse, so she'd likely be treating patients in a clinic. But what kind of clinic? What does it specialise in? How are patients treated?'

The story grew from there, eventually shaping the world of "Clinic of Horrors". It's a post-apocalyptic setting where everything outside one sprawling city has been left desolate and mutated beyond recognition. Bianca lives and works there, under the supervision of a mysterious doctor who treats people suffering from bizarre, otherworldly illnesses.

6. Have you ever had a story idea that was too weird, too dark, or too risky to publish? What happened to it, and do you have plans to publish it one day?

I've had a few dark stories that I've kind of played around with. I've published a few, actually. At one point, I received criticism for including a particularly grim arc in one of my comics, which dealt with bullying and other heavy themes. At the time, there were some readers who were quite upset about it because it was such a departure from where the story started. So, I'd say it's important to be mindful when handling that sort of subject matter.

7. Do you have anything new that you're currently working on that you can share? And are you open to collaborating with Malaysian content creators on a project?

I guess we have new things coming up soon, in general, for everything. Yeah, one thing I really want to go into is animation. So maybe that's a little foreshadowing of something to come. As for the collab, maybe I already have.

K-Drama “Shark: The Storm” Returns: Ex-Convict Battles Underground Fighting Ring

"Life is like a shark: stop moving and you die." This philosophy drives the brutal narrative of "Shark: The Storm", premiering exclusively on Tonton this 29th August 2025.

The highly anticipated sequel to "Shark: The Beginning" (2021) plunges viewers into a world where only the strongest survive. This gripping six-episode Korean action drama stars KIM Min-Seok, LEE Hyun-Wook, BAE Myung-Jin, LEE Jung-Hyun, PARK Jin, and JEONG Da-Eun.

A Fighter's Second Chance Becomes His Greatest Battle

The series follows Cha Woo-sol (KIM Min-Seok), a former bullying victim attempting to rebuild his life after serving time in prison. Working part-time at a gym while pursuing his dream of becoming a professional MMA fighter, Woo-sol battles the stigma of his past at every turn.

When a sparring session goes wrong and Woo-sol accidentally injures his opponent, he attracts the dangerous attention of Hyun Woo-yong (LEE Hyun-Wook), a ruthless crime boss who operates an underground fighting league. This isn't just any fighting arena – it's a "ring of hell" where the wealthy and powerful gamble with fighters' lives for their twisted entertainment. Recognising Woo-sol's raw potential, Woo-yong attempts to recruit him. But when Woo-sol refuses to become a pawn in this deadly game, he becomes the crime lord's next target.

Survival at Any Cost

Now hunted by dangerous enemies, Woo-sol must fight not just for his own survival, but to protect the people he loves. In this unforgiving underworld where weakness means death, he clings to one brutal truth: like a shark, he must keep moving or die.

"Shark: The Storm" delivers explosive action sequences, raw emotional depth, and compelling character development as it explores themes of redemption, survival, and the price of standing up to power.

Don't miss this intense journey of survival and redemption. All six episodes of "Shark: The Storm" drop simultaneously on 29th August 2025, exclusively on Tonton.

monoloQue Drops “Villa Marhaen (Them Vs Us)” A Powerful Allegory For 2025

monoloQue is kicking off 2025 with something powerful. Their latest single, "Villa Marhaen (Them Vs Us)," is more than just music. It is a reflection, an allegory, and a people's story told through rhythm and poetry. The track also sets the stage for their upcoming third album, "Tunjuk Langit".

The song takes inspiration from A. Samad Said's poem "Marhaenville," where satire meets social critique. Frontman loQue transforms that idea into "Villa Marhaen," a mirrored tale of class divide. It does not preach or point fingers but opens a window for listeners to interpret what they hear.

"Villa Marhaen is an allegory, a metaphorical view of two classes. We are not pointing at anyone or anything, but letting listeners interpret for themselves. If the shoe fits, wear it," says loQue.

Musically, the track is rich with layers. Dual drums, exotic desert-like rhythms, sharp guitar strokes, and even children's voices from the Farabi Nasyid Group echo throughout the song. It feels like ritual, satire, and sing-along all at once. Bassist Herda Geroda admits the parts were challenging to play, while drummer Bakri Halia calls it "more grounded, straightforward and fun for the stage." Loko, monoloQue's senior drummer, adds that it still carries their DNA, even if the sound has shifted.

The title itself holds weight. "Marhaen" represents the common people, while "villa" suggests privilege and the elite. The music mirrors this clash with rhythms that dance between accessibility and critique. Beneath the catchy joget beat lies a subtle but piercing commentary about society.

"Villa Marhaen" is not just a single. It is the opening of "Tunjuk Langit", monoloQue's next full-length project. The album will weave together joget, dangdut, ballads, and experimental sounds into something loQue describes as a new nickname for the soul of their music.

With "Villa Marhaen," monoloQue once again proves that their work is not just to be heard. It is meant to be felt, questioned, and sung together.

The track is now streaming on all major platforms.
