The 2026 Met Gala Theme Has Been Announced; Here’s What We Know So Far

It's that time of year again, where fashion fans can finally start to countdown; The Metropolitan Museum of Art has officially announced its 2026 Met Gala theme. Titled "Costume Art", the exhibition will be celebrating the role of the dressed body throughout history.

Rather than focusing solely on garments, "Costume Art" aims to make the connection of fashion, art history and human anatomy more literal than ever, pairing garments with objects from across the museum to show how fashion has long been intertwined with different art forms.

Next year's theme will also mark the opening of the new Condé M. Nast Galleries, a 12,000‑square‑foot space within the museum's Great Hall dedicated entirely to the Costume Institute. Curated by Andrew Bolton, the exhibition will bring together contemporary and historical garments alongside paintings, sculptures, and artefacts spanning 5,000 years of human creativity to highlight how clothing and the body have interacted through different eras.

What is the dress code?

The dress code for the 2026 Met Gala has not yet been announced. It's traditionally announced two or three months after the theme is revealed. But given the nature of the exhibition, we can expect a dress code that emphasises curves, free movement, and flexibility. There's a chance the dress code will require guests to reimagine their bodies as art. In other words, expect some stellar looks.

We know that A-listers like Zendaya and Rihanna will surely bring it and continue to be on the best-dressed lists.

Who is on the host committee?

As of yet, no hosts have been announced for next year's Met Gala. That said, the Met Gala welcomes a handful of A-list co-chairs as hosts for the event every year, including an assemblage of celebrities and cultural leaders such as Anna Wintour, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams.

When will the 2026 Met Gala take place?

As always, the Met Gala will be held on the first Monday in May, which falls on the 4th May, 2026. The red carpet will open at 4:30pm EST, before the Vogue livestream at 6pm EST. The "Costume Art" exhibition opens to the public on 10th May, 2026, and will run through 10th January, 2027 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

(Video) “He Has No Filter”: Jackson Wang’s “Oversharing” About Love Life Amuses Fans

It's always a fun time when global superstar Jackson Wang (王嘉爾) appears in an interview. Recently, the "MAGIC MAN" star shared a surprising anecdote about himself, cracking fans up with his "lack of filters".

The singer recently appeared on TVB's "Star Trail", speaking to host Maria Luisa Leitao (黎芷珊) about his career and personal life. During the second episode of the two-part special, Jackson discussed his love life, sharing about his ideal type. The singer said that he doesn't have a specific ideal type in mind, adding that how he feels about the person is more important. He also mentioned that he hasn't been in a serious relationship in years.

However, during this discussion, Jackson made a comment that many took as him oversharing about his private life. The GOT7 said, "Most of the time, I handle things myself. I take care of my own needs. I'm human after all." His candid self prompted Maria to burst into laughter, seemingly in disbelief at his unexpected confession. Clips of that moment also went viral, with many amused by Jackson's honesty.

During the same programme, Jackson's longtime friend and business partner Henry Cheung also made an appearance, chatting about their school days. Henry revealed that he would often treat Jackson to lunch because the idol would use up his school allowance to go on dates. The Team Wang Design co-founder even revealed that Jackson once used the name of the girl he liked in his email address.

At the same time, Jackson also spoke about his time on tour and his "MAGIC MAN 2" album. He shared his concert preparation, revealing he only eats chicken breast and four eggs for two weeks leading up to the show. The singer also talked about his relationship with his parents, noting that he tried to spend more time with them during his year-long break. His parents also shared their heartwarming reaction to his song "Sophie Ricky".

The interview with Maria also delved into other aspects of Jackson's life, giving fans another perspective of the singer. Here are some clips from the show:

I love that he's not into short flings or hookups, he'd rather actually fall in love than be with just anyone.🫶🏻 #jacksonwang #fyp #got7

Yoko Takahashi, Hiroshi Kitadani & FLOW To Join Artists Line-Up For STRENGTH Anime Concert In KL

Last month, iMe Malaysia announced that the 2026 STRENGTH Japanese Anime Concert Tour will be coming to Malaysia early next year, making the country the very first stop — a rare honour. The tour will then continue to Taipei, Taiwan, and two cities in Australia, with further dates and locations to be announced.

At the time, the lineup of artists had not been revealed, but last week the organiser shared another poster for the event featuring silhouettes of the stars who will be performing. From the posts, a total of five acts are set to take the stage, and over the past few days, three of them have been confirmed, with the latest announced earlier today (Monday, 1st December). Let's find out who they are:

Source: YouTube Music

It has now been confirmed that Hiroshi Kitadani, the singer behind the iconic 1999 "ONE PIECE" opening theme "We Are!", will be joining the artist lineup for the 2026 STRENGTH Japanese Anime Concert Tour in Kuala Lumpur. The singer has also contributed to various anime soundtracks, including "Yu☆Gi☆Oh! Duel Monsters GX" and "Gintama: Shiroyasha Koutan", but it was "ONE PIECE" that brought him global recognition.

Joining him for the upcoming show is another icon, Yoko Takahashi, who sang "A Cruel Angel's Thesis", the opening theme for the 1995 anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion". Both the song and the anime propelled her to global stardom, making it one of the most iconic anime and opening themes of all time. She also sang the "Soul's Refrain" theme for the "Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth" film.

Source: Twitter/FLOW_official

The other acts joining these two legends are considered icons in their own right and have performed in Malaysia numerous times. That's right, FLOW will be making their return to the Kuala Lumpur stage! The rock band is best known for their incredible contributions to the Naruto soundtrack, performing songs such as "Go!!!", "Re:Member" and "Sign". In addition to this popular anime, they are also the artists behind "Days" from "Eureka Seven".

With these three icons announced, it's safe to assume that the last two acts to be revealed will be just as legendary. Who do you think they are based on the silhouettes? Check out the post below and let us know your guesses:

ZEROBASEONE Extends Group Activities For 2 Months; To Hold Encore Concert & Release New Album

As the other groups formed through Mnet's survival shows, boy group ZEROBASEONE (제로베이스원) is a temporary group with a contract period of two-and-a-half years. However, the members recently announced plans to extend their group activities.

On 1st December 2025 (Monday), ZEROBASEONE's agency, WakeOne, announced that all nine members and the company have mutually agreed to extend their group activities for an additional two months. As part of their formation under "Boys Planet", the group was scheduled to disband in January 2026, two years and six months after their debut in July 2023.

SOURCE: TWITTER (@wakeone_offcl)

With the additional two months, ZEROBASEONE is now scheduled to end their group activities in March 2026. According to the official announcement, the K-pop act has plans to hold an encore concert for their "HERE&NOW" world tour and release new music during the period. Their fan club and fan chat services have also been extended without additional payment.

ZEROSEs (ZEROBASEONE's fans) have reacted to the news, sharing mixed opinions. Some were happy that the group is extending their activities to spend more time with fans and release more projects. However, others expressed disappointment that the extension period is only two months, lamenting that it's too short for a proper album promotion.

SOURCE: TWITTER (@ZB1_official)

Many fans also urged ZEROBASEONE to renew their contracts with WakeOne and continue group activities for another year. It's worth noting that the "Girls Planet 999" group, Kep1er (케플러), is still promoting together, despite initially being scheduled to disband in July 2024, after seven out of nine members renewed their contracts.

Of course, there is still a possibility that the ZEROBASEONE members would renew their contract after the two-month extension. What are your thoughts on this?

(Video) Malaysian Actor Amir Haiqal Appears In Popular Korean Series “Taxi Driver Season 3”

Who wouldn't be proud to learn that some of our local talents have appeared in international TV series and films? Both veterans and newcomers have shown that Malaysia has what it takes to succeed in the global entertainment industry, securing these roles either through online auditions or by moving abroad to start afresh.

Now, it seems this Malaysian-born actor is making waves after appearing in the latest episode of the highly popular Korean TV series, "Taxi Driver" (모범택시). Let's take a closer look at the star and the roles he has played:

Source: IG/hhighqal

For those who may not be familiar, "Taxi Driver" is a South Korean series on Viu that follows Kim Do-gi (played by Lee Je-hoon), a former special forces officer who seeks revenge by working for a secret taxi company called Rainbow Taxi. The company offers a "revenge-call" service to victims wronged by the justice system, with Do-gi and his team exacting vengeance on those who have escaped punishment.

The third season premiered last month in November, with episode four airing over the weekend. In that episode, the main character arrives at a suspicious car factory, where he encounters a foreign staff member who tries to confront him before slipping on spilt petrol. Malaysian fans tuning in noticed that the staff member was speaking Malay, shouting at the protagonist, "Woi! Itu fon aku bodoh! Sial, kau nak pergi mana?! P*****k!!"

Source: Threads/hhighqal
Source: Twitter

As it turns out, the actor is actually Malaysian! Credited as Muhammad Amir Haiqal, he has been living in South Korea for 7 years now and pursuing acting roles, both on screen and on stage, according to his official social media pages. He's also made appearances on "A Shop For Killers Season 1" and "Hideaway", with the latter being released last month. Although he is fluent in Korean, for this role in "Taxi Driver", he proved he hasn't forgotten his mother tongue. It is currently unclear how he secured the job, but regardless, his appearance in the episode instantly went viral back in his home country.

As seen in the screenshots above, many were surprised that a Malaysian actor had been cast in the role. Others were amused by his lines and the "mat rempit" portrayal. Some were thrilled to see someone from their country get the chance to act alongside some of Korea's biggest stars. Safe to assume that Amir Haiqal has certainly made Malaysia proud. May he continue to thrive and get even bigger roles in the future!

(Video) Coming To KL? Azarine Cosmetic Malaysia Teases SEVENTEEN’s Dino As New Ambassador

After a certain period, brands will usually appoint a new star to represent them. Whether it's for a specific campaign or as the face of the brand itself, featuring these celebrities in their promotions is sure to attract plenty of attention and potential customers, especially if those celebrities are from South Korea.

Last year, Azarine Cosmetic Malaysia appointed Korean actor Lee Min Ho (이민호) as brand ambassador, and the entertainer even made a special appearance in Kuala Lumpur for the brand's event. Now, it's time for someone new to take the stage, as the company just gave fans a little teaser on who that person might be:

Source: IG/azarinecosmetic.my

Yesterday (Sunday, 1st December), Azarine Cosmetic Malaysia posted a video on their official social media pages announcing that a male K-pop idol has been appointed as the new brand ambassador. Normally, such teasers come in the form of a silhouette or feature camera angles that do not fully reveal the ambassador's identity, allowing fans to send in their guesses.

The brand did just that on Saturday by posting the silhouette of the celebrity, but for this new promo, it seems they couldn't wait any longer to share the exciting news with fans. Although the singer's face was only partially revealed, it was clear that the new face of Azarine Cosmetic Malaysia is none other than SEVENTEEN (세븐틴) member Dino (디노). "Behind the glow… something huge is coming~ A new chapter of Azarine Malaysia starts now," the caption read.

Source: IG/azarinecosmetic.my, Twitter/MyKpopHuntress

Unsurprisingly, SEVENTEEN fans immediately recognised DINO as soon as his face appeared on screen. In the comments section, most expressed their excitement at seeing the K-pop star as the new ambassador for the beauty brand. This now begs the question: will he be making an appearance in KL soon? There is no confirmation, of course, but since Lee Min Ho visited during his time as ambassador, it's quite possible that DINO could meet his Malaysian fans one day too. We'll just have to wait for the official announcement.

Watch the teaser below:

Netizens Outraged After Man Allegedly Broke Into HK Actress Angie Chiu’s Hotel Room

Many celebrities have unfortunately experienced having their privacy invaded, sparking concern among fans. Recently, there were rumours that a stalker broke into veteran actress Angie Chiu's (趙雅芝) hotel room, angering fans with his allegedly indecent acts.

According to reports, rumours have been circulating on Weibo that a male stalker recently broke into Angie Chiu's hotel room. The man allegedly sneaked into the 71-year-old's room while the housekeeping staff was cleaning, leaving the door unlocked. When the housekeeping staff left, the stalker reportedly lay down on the bed.

SOURCE: WEIBO (赵雅芝)

Most shockingly, there were claims that the man was sniffing the bed to catch a whiff of Angie's scent, reportedly exclaiming, "It smells so good!" The unnamed individual also allegedly rummaged through the star's personal belongings. Angie's agency has yet to address the rumours, but the issue has drawn significant public attention.

Netizens were outraged over the possibility of a male stalker invading the actress' private space. Many condemned the act, calling it a blatant invasion of privacy and sexual harassment. Some also called for the agency to take action against obsessive fans, expressing concern over Angie's safety.

SOURCE: WEIBO (赵雅芝)

In fact, the actress once almost fell after getting hit by a crazed fan. In August 2025, Angie got out of a car at an underground parking lot and greeted a crowd of fans. However, one particular fan suddenly rushed towards her to get an autograph, accidentally hitting her. Security guards immediately subdued the man and took him away.

Given Angie's history with obsessive fans, it's no surprise that the public wants her agency to be more vigilant. Let's hope the actress' team will take action to prevent any unwanted incidents.

HK Stars Roger Kwok & Law Lan Rumoured To Have Quietly Left TVB

In recent years, many celebrities have left TVB in search of new opportunities. Recently, there have been rumours that two renowned stars have quietly departed from the broadcasting company after decades.

According to reports, veteran actress Law Lan (罗兰) and actor Roger Kwok (郭晋安) have recently ended their contracts with TVB. This allegation emerged after the public noticed that both stars are no longer on the company's official artist list on its website. However, neither Roger nor Law have confirmed the news.

SOURCES: INSTAGRAM (@rojaklah_my & @onjai109)

Law Lan has been with TVB since 1971, taking part in various dramas and variety shows. In 2002, the actress received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the TVB Anniversary Awards for her work with the broadcasting company. The 91-year-old also recently attended a mall event to promote TVB's upcoming blockbuster, "The Fading Gold".

There were concerns for Law Lan's health after she had to be escorted by two helpers during her recent public appearance. However, she remains upbeat and dedicated to her work. In recent years, Law Lan has worked on per-episode projects for TVB. Regardless, her possible departure from the broadcasting company still surprised many viewers.

Roger Kwok's rumoured departure also surprised viewers, especially given that he's a strong contender for the Best Actor award for the upcoming TVB Anniversary Awards. The actor made his debut with TVB in 1985, playing a small role in the sitcom "City Japes". He briefly left the company in 1996 but returned in 1998, and subsequently found success in leading roles.

SOURCE: INSTAGRAM (@onjai109)

In 2021, Roger allegedly left TVB again after his name was missing from the artist list. However, his agent quickly shut down the allegations. According to reports, the 61-year-old could be leaving TVB for good this time to focus on his health supplement business, which he founded with his sister. The actor previously mentioned his intention to reduce his acting roles to devote more time to business.

Law Lan and Roger recently appeared together in TVB's "Golden Forest", playing mother and son. While their departure from TVB remains unconfirmed, fans expressed sadness over the possibility of no longer seeing the two stars in new projects. What are your thoughts on this?
