Kinokuniya Bookstore Warns Customers To Beware Of Fake Free Book Scams

Kinokuniya Malaysia has issued a public warning after discovering several fraudulent social media accounts impersonating the bookstore. These fake accounts have been claiming to offer free books, tricking unsuspecting users into engaging with them.

The company emphasised that it does not run any free book giveaway campaigns. It also stated that it never contacts customers through WhatsApp or adds them to group chats, stressing that such actions are red flags for scams.

In a statement shared on its official social media platforms, Kinokuniya reassured customers that these fake accounts have no connection to the legitimate business. "We are not related to these accounts in any way," the company said firmly. To help customers verify legitimate communications, Kinokuniya Malaysia clarified its official channels:

For enquiries, customers are encouraged to contact Kinokuniya Malaysia's customer service team. They can be reached by email at mys@kinokuniya.com or by phone at 03-2784 3933.
