It looks like the investigations into the death of Taiwanese influencer Iris Hsieh (谢侑芯) continue with no new leads. While Malaysian singer Namewee's (黄明志) bail extension expires today (Wednesday, 10th December 2025), police confirmed they will extend it for the third time.
Earlier today, media outlets reported that Namewee's bail extension, which expires today, has been extended. The authorities confirmed the extension for another 14 days, until 23rd December. Namewee's previous bail extension also lasted 14 days, from 27th November to 10th December. He was in police remand from 5th November, before being released on bail on the 13th.

The reason for the extension remains unknown, but it's likely because the police are still waiting for Iris' toxicology and post-mortem reports. Namewee was named a person of interest in the murder of the Taiwanese influencer, and is the only known suspect in the case. However, the investigation found no evidence of his involvement.
In the meantime, Namewee is also facing charges for drug use and drug possession. On the day of Iris' death, police found the 42-year-old in the same hotel room with nine blue pills on his person, which they believe to be ecstasy. A drug test found Namewee positive for a cocktail of drugs, including amphetamines, methamphetamines, ketamine and THC.

During his first court hearing, Namewee pleaded not guilty to the drug charges. He's scheduled to appear in court on 18th December 2025 for mention. The singer previously denied the allegations, saying he has never used or possessed drugs. At the same time, he also reiterates his innocence in Iris' passing.
The authorities previously said the toxicology and post-mortem reports could take months to prepare, so it's possible that the investigations into this case would extend into the new year. Whatever happens, we hope the truth will prevail.
