World-renowned K-pop group BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) is gearing up for the release of their long-awaited comeback album, which will drop later this month. However, after the tracklist announcement, fans have started to show less interest in the new project.
On 5th February 2026 (Thursday), BLACKPINK unveiled the tracklist for their upcoming 3rd mini album "DEADLINE". The album marks the quartet's long-awaited comeback and first album release since "Born Pink" in 2022. Despite criticism of the group releasing a mini album after a long hiatus, many BLINKs (BLACKPINK fans) were still excited for new music from the group.

Unfortunately, after BLACKPINK confirmed the tracklist, many fans began expressing disappointment over the upcoming album. According to the announcement, the "DEADLINE" album will include five songs, including "Jump", which came out back in July 2025. The rest of the album consists of the title track "Go" and three B-side tracks: "Me and My", "Champion" and "Fxxxboy".
In addition to one of the five tracks being a pre-released single, many BLINKs were disappointed that two other tracks had previously leaked online. Last year, portions of "Me and My" and "Champion" circulated online, with many at the time believing them to be leaks of BLACKPINK's new songs. Audios of the song are still available online.

Since the two songs are now confirmed to be part of the new album, many lament that the public has already heard three out of five songs from "DEADLINE", thus making the album no longer exciting. Others also expressed mixed reactions to the leaked songs, particularly "Me and My" because of its alleged misogynistic lyrics.
Others also criticised the "lazy" album rollout, noting that there are no group photos to accompany the track list poster. For now, BLINKs remain sceptical about the new album, hoping that something interesting will pop up and capture their attention. What are your thoughts on this?
