Dadi Cinema Ceased Operations Of Its Pavilion KL Outlet; TGV Cinemas To Take Over

It's the end of a chapter for Dadi Cinema. The China-based company announced that its Pavilion Kuala Lumpur outlet ceased operations today (Thursday, 5th March 2026) after opening its doors in 2021.

On 4th March 2026 (Wednesday), Dadi Cinema shared a statement through its social media pages, announcing the closure of its Pavilion KL outlet. The statement writes, "With heavy hearts, we wish to share that our Pavilion KL outlet will be ceasing operations due to the end of our tenancy." The cinema announced that its last day of operation was yesterday, with the premises officially shutting its doors from today onwards.

In its statement, Dadi Cinema also thanked its customers for all the support throughout its operation, writing, "For all these years, it has been our greatest joy to welcome you – to laugh together, cry together, and share countless unforgettable moments on the big screen. Your support, smiles, and love for movies have meant more to us than words can express." However, the cinema confirms that its Central Square outlet in Kedah will continue operating as usual.

Dadi Cinema began operating in Pavilion KL in 2021, amid COVID-19 restrictions, taking over Golden Screen Cinemas' (GSC) tenancy after 12 years. The outlet boasts several speciality cinema halls, including a kid-friendly hall. In 2024, it also offered a "hotpot cinema" experience, which is the first of its kind in Malaysia. During its operations, Dadi Cinema also hosted numerous events and gala premieres featuring international stars.
