It’s always shocking to hear about a K-Pop group’s disbandment. Earlier today (Monday, 6th July 2026), popular co-ed group KARD (카드) announced plans to disband after their upcoming album and world tour.
On Monday morning, DSP Media released an announcement about KARD’s future group activities. The agency revealed that the group has decided to conclude their group activities after the release of their first album, “Where To Now? (Part.2): NOWHERE”, and the completion of their upcoming world tour.
The statement reads, “After careful and thoughtful discussions with all four members, we have mutually agreed that this album and tour will mark the conclusion of KARD’s journey as a group.” DSP Media also expressed gratitude to the HIDDEN KARD (KARD fans) for standing by the group and asked for their continued support for the members’ individual journey.
KARD made their debut in 2017, with the hit song “Oh NaNa”, before releasing more singles, including “Don’t Recall” and “Hola Hola”. The group, consisting of members J.seph (제이셉), BM (비엠), Somin (소민) and Jiwoo (지우), sparked interest with their debut because of their co-ed concept, which is rare in the K-Pop industry.
Earlier this month, the group announced their comeback with their first studio album, which drops on 28th July 2026 (Tuesday). At the same time, DSP Media also unveiled the first teaser for their upcoming concert, “KARD in SEOUL”. The quartet is also celebrating their 9th anniversary on 19th July 2026 (Sunday).
Fans have reacted to the news, mostly disappointed over the disbandment. Some also expressed surprise about the split, given how the group had only recently concluded their concerts in Jakarta and Tokyo. However, many noted that the members have been transparent about their future and have previously spoken about their plans to leave their agency.
Despite the disappointment, fans are showing support for KARD as they kickstart the end of their group activities. We wish the KARD members all the best for their upcoming album and tour, and in their respective futures.
