Jessie Chung, better known by her stage name JessC, recently returned to her hometown in Kuching after more than a decade. She held a celebration dinner at the Grand Riverine Ballroom, with more than 400 guests in attendance.
The occasion was to celebrate her song “One Chance” clinching the Gold Award for Pop Vocal at the 2026 Fenix Music Awards in Europe. This makes JessC the only recipient of the Gold Winner honour (in the Pop Vocal category) worldwide this year.
In addition to this career milestone, the single “One Chance” has also earned nominations at the 2026 Josie Music Awards, further cementing the progress in her international music journey. For the uninitiated, the Josie Music Awards is an US award organisation that spotlights independent music in all forms and genres.
The high profile ceremony will be held on 20th September 2026, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee. As a nominee, JessC will be attending the Josie Music Awards where she’ll be up for the prestigious World Artist of the Year award. The category recognises artists for her original music, multilingual performances, artistic excellence and international development.
Meanwhile, the song “One Chance” is nominated in two categories – “Social Impact Song of the Year – Pop/Contemporary” and “Social Impact Video of the Year – Female”. In case you didn’t know, “One Chance” previously won the Gold Award at the LIT Music Awards earlier this year.
Despite her many achievements, the Australia-based recording artist remains humble. “The greatest meaning of tonight is not how many awards I have received, but to thank everyone who has walked this journey with me,” JessC was quoted as saying. “I hope to continue using music and art to inspire hope, strength and compassion around the world.”
