This Merdeka season, Pavilion Bukit Jalil invites shoppers to come together and celebrate Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, creativity and shared traditions through “Living Unity – Together, Here.”, taking place from 15th August to 6th September 2026.
At the heart of the celebration is the 10th World Bonsai Convention 2026, marking the first time the prestigious global event is being hosted in Malaysia. Held once every four years and often regarded as the “Olympics of the Bonsai World,” the convention brings together bonsai masters, enthusiasts and practitioners from more than 100 countries, making it a significant milestone for Malaysia on the global bonsai stage.
Led by the Malaysia Bonsai & Suiseki Society (MBSS), the convention will take place across Pavilion Bukit Jalil from 28 August to 6 September 2026, bringing the beauty of bonsai, suiseki and natural wood art to life throughout the mall. Visitors can discover thousands of bonsai, suiseki stone and natural wood art masterpieces, alongside live demonstrations, workshops, seminars and Master Classes by world-leading bonsai artists and speakers across the PIAZZA Level 3 and Centre Court Level 2, while the Level 2 Pink Zone will showcase the intricate art of Suiseki and Wood Art. The official launch on 29th August 2026 will be graced by Yang Amat Mulia Raja Saidatul Mardiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris A’Fifullah Shah, Royal Patron of the 10th World Bonsai Convention 2026.
Beyond bonsai, “Living Unity – Together, Here.” celebrates Malaysia’s rich heritage through a vibrant line-up of art, culture and community experiences. At the Level 2 Orange Zone, City Gardening KL will run from 28th August to 6th September, offering shoppers a variety of potted and living plants to discover and bring home, encouraging everyone to embrace greener living and bring nature closer to home.
Adding a contemporary touch to Malaysia’s cultural heritage, Pavilion Bukit Jalil is collaborating with UCSI University’s De Institute of Creative Arts and Design (ICAD) students to present 69 four-foot-diameter giant Wau Bulan artworks from 21 August to 6 September 2026. Designed by students and incorporating bonsai-inspired elements, the installation brings together traditional Malaysian heritage and the creativity of a new generation at the Centre Court.
The patriotic spirit continues from 20th to 31st August 2026, with shoppers receiving a complimentary Malaysia mini flag at the Concierge Counter, Level 3 Orange Zone, while stocks last. Pavilion Privileges members can also celebrate Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage through a Merdeka-inspired craft workshop on 26th August 2026, where participants can create palm-sized Wau Bulan decorated with batik-inspired patterns, alongside elegant batik bookmarks.
Throughout the campaign, shoppers can enjoy exclusive Gifts with Purchase rewards from 15th August to 6th September 2026 at the Level 2 Pink Zone, in front of HWC Coffee, while stocks last. Shoppers who meet the minimum spend can enjoy the following rewards:
- Spend RM300 in a single receipt mallwide to receive a RM20 Shopping Voucher.
- Spend RM500 in a single receipt mallwide to receive a complimentary mini bonsai.
Pavilion Privileges members can also enjoy an exclusive reward during the same period, with members who spend RM690 and above in a single receipt entitled to redeem a RM50 Shopping Voucher.
Adding to the excitement, the Shop & Win with Traveloka campaign will run from 21 August to 20 September 2026, giving shoppers the chance to win a share of RM50,000 worth of Traveloka Travel Vouchers with a minimum spend of RM300 in a single receipt mallwide.
