(Photos) Mat Yeung & Lisa Ch’ng Marry In Star-Studded Wedding In KL

After a decade together, Hong Kong actor Mat Yeung (楊明) and Malaysian-born actress Lisa Ch’ng (莊思明) have finally tied the knot! The couple held their wedding ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, with tons of fellow celebrities in attendance to celebrate their big day!

As previously reported, Mat and Lisa held their wedding ceremony on 2nd August 2026 (Sunday) at the luxurious JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The couple spared no expense for their nuptials, even travelling to various cities for their pre-wedding photoshoot. Lisa’s bridal wardrobe also sparked a lot of interest for its price tag.

Given their status as one of Hong Kong showbiz’s most enduring couples, it’s no surprise that many celebrities appeared at Mat and Lisa’s wedding to commemorate their union. According to reports, the star-studded wedding guest list included Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯), Nancy Sit (薛家燕), Maria Cordero (瑪俐亞) and Max Cheung (張達倫).

In a media interview on their wedding day, the newlyweds expressed gratitude to all their friends who flew in from Hong Kong for their wedding. Since a destination wedding meant guests had to set aside several days from their schedules to attend, Mat said their presence at the ceremony was even more meaningful.

SOURCE: CHINA PRESS

Lisa also explained the decision to hold the wedding in Malaysia, instead of Hong Kong. According to the actress, family connections were the primary reason, since many of her relatives reside here. She also said she chose to have her nuptials here to honour her late father, Datuk Bill Ch’ng Chong Poh, and the place he grew up.

The couple also spoke about their future now that they’re officially husband and wife. Mat said they hope to start a family soon, but will let nature take its course. Lisa also shared that she would ideally like to have two children, saying the kids would have a sibling for companionship but won’t be too burdensome to raise.

As for their honeymoon plans, the couple admitted that they haven’t had the time to plan the trip yet. Lisa shared that they will return to Hong Kong after the wedding to resume work and prepare another banquet for family and friends who couldn’t attend the KL ceremony. As such, the pair will begin planning their honeymoon once everything is settled.

We once again congratulate Mat and Lisa on their wedding, and we hope to hear more happy news from the couple soon.

Here’s How Our Malaysian Athletes Did At The 2026 Commonwealth Games

Malaysia concluded its 18th appearance at the Commonwealth Games, represented by a focused delegation of 59 athletes across eight sports (comprising 37 able-bodied athletes and 22 para-athletes) that hauled an impressive total of 16 medals: 8 Gold, 3 Silver, and 5 Bronze.

While the final medal tally was impressive, the true story of Glasgow 2026 lay in the drama, grit, and milestones created along the way.

Heading into Glasgow, the Olympic Council of Malaysia set a modest target of 5 Gold medals. Malaysia surpassed that benchmark early on Day 8 and kept pushing, ultimately concluding with 8 Golds. Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari lauded the achievement, citing the strength of the national sports development ecosystem across both Olympic and Para programs.

Glasgow 2026 featured a scaled-back 10-sport framework (down from Birmingham 2022’s 20 sports). Even with badminton dropped from the roster, traditionally one of Malaysia’s strongest medal sports, the delegation adapted effortlessly. Combat sports, weightlifting, and velodrome events stepped up into the spotlight to power the country’s national tally.

🥇 Gold Medal Highlights

Malaysia’s eight gold medals came from dominant performances in weightlifting, track cycling, para-athletics, and judo:

  • Weightlifting Dominance: The weightlifting squad proved to be Malaysia’s strongest medal engine in Glasgow, sweeping 5 Gold medals:

    • Aniq Kasdan (Men’s 60 kg)

    • Aznil Bidin (Men’s 65 kg)

    • Erry Hidayat (Men’s 79 kg)

    • Hafizuddin Roslin (Men’s 88 kg)

    • Mohamad Syahmi (Men’s 94 kg)

  • Track Cycling: “The Pocket Rocketman” Mohd Azizulhasni Awang produced a masterclass at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome to storm to victory and claim Gold in the Men’s Keirin.

  • Para-Athletics: Flagbearer Abdul Latif Romly lived up to expectations, capturing Gold in the Men’s Long Jump T20 with an impressive leap of 7.17 meters.

  • Judo: Amir Daniel Abdul Majeed clinched Gold in the Men’s 81 kg category at the SEC Hall, securing one of Malaysia’s standout martial arts victories of the Games.

🥈 Silver Medals

  • Lawn Bowls (Women’s Pairs): Syafiqa Haider Afif Abdul Rahman & Aleena Ahmad Nawawi.

  • Lawn Bowls (Men’s Singles): Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple.

  • Weightlifting (Women’s +86 kg): Siti Aqilah Farhana Draman.

🥉 Bronze Medals

  • Para Powerlifting: Bonnie Bunyau Gustin opened Malaysia’s medal tally on Day 2 with Bronze in the Men’s Lightweight division.

  • Weightlifting (Women’s 48 kg): Irene Jane Henry.

  • Para-Athletics (Men’s Long Jump T20): Eljoe Gotuoh (jumping 6.51 m to join Latif Romly on the podium).

  • Lawn Bowls (Men’s Pairs): Amirul Danial Abdul Rahim & Soufi Rusli.

  • Lawn Bowls (Women’s Pairs): Jariah Zakaria & Norazian Daud.

Overall Medal Breakdown

Sport 🥇 Gold 🥈 Silver 🥉 Bronze Total
Weightlifting 5 1 1 7
Lawn Bowls & Para Bowls 0 2 2 4
Para-Athletics 1 0 1 2
Track Cycling 1 0 0 1
Judo 1 0 0 1
Para Powerlifting 0 0 1 1
Total 8 3 5

Overall, the Malaysian contingent finished 10th in the medal rankings with Australia finishing 1st with 169 total medals (70 gold, 43 silver and 56 bronze), England in 2nd with 110 total medals (29 gold, 45 silver and 36 bronze) and Canada in 3rd with 62 medals (19 gold, 20 silver and 23 bronze).

With major events on the horizon, including the upcoming Asian Games, Asian Para Games, and the 2027 SEA Games, this Glasgow showing provides crucial momentum, proving that the nation’s sporting ecosystem is built to thrive on the world stage.

Skechers & Cloakwork Bring Street-Inspired Creativity To The Latest SkechVibe Collection

Skechers, The Comfort Technology Company™ and global leader in lifestyle and performance footwear is bringing Kuala Lumpur-based graffiti artist and illustrator Cloakwork (@cloakwork) into the SkechVibe fold with the SkechVibe x Cloakwork Collection, lending his signature visual language to a new capsule of limited-edition apparel and accessory.

Created as a platform to celebrate artistic expression through wearable design, SkechVibe brings together creative talents whose distinctive perspectives resonate with today’s generation of self-expression and individuality. For its latest collaboration, Skechers partners with Cloakwork, whose vibrant murals, playful illustrations and unmistakable visual style transform everyday apparel into wearable works of art.

SOURCE: SKECHERS

Beginning with a spray can in his Kuala Lumpur neighbourhood over a decade ago, Cloakwork has since built a multidisciplinary creative practice spanning murals, illustration and public art installations across Malaysia and internationally. Known for his bold colours, expressive characters and energetic compositions, his work captures the vibrancy of urban culture while remaining approachable and universally recognisable.

That same creative language has extended beyond walls into collaborations for wearable art – making him a natural fit for SkechVibe, where original artistic expression meets everyday style.

The SkechVibe x Cloakwork Collection features four exclusive T-shirt designs and one tote bag design, each offered in two colourways. Drawing inspiration from Cloakwork’s signature artistic style, the collection blends bold graphics, playful characters and vibrant visual elements into wardrobe staples, inviting wearers to express their individuality through art-inspired fashion.

SOURCE: SKECHERS

Whether worn as statement pieces or styled for everyday occasions, the collection reflects Skechers’ belief that comfort and creativity can go hand in hand, bringing original artistic expression into designs that are made to be lived in.

Setting the tone for laid-back days, this design features a character stretched out in a hammock strung between two palm trees, drink in hand and slides kicked off in the sand. Set against a warm coastal palette of orange and ocean blue, “SKECHERS SUMMER CLUB” arches overhead in bold retro lettering, capturing the ease of slower days ahead. Relaxed and sun-soaked, this piece opens the collection on a lighter note before the rest of the capsule turns to the streets.

Inspired by Cloakwork’s early days painting the walls of his neighbourhood, this design features a character peeking over a brick wall shaped into the iconic Skechers “S”, with spray cans, paint drips and an old-school boombox completing the scene. Brought to life in brick red, sky blue and sun-faded yellow, the artwork pays homage to graffiti’s raw beginnings, where a blank wall and a can of spray paint were all it took to spark creativity. A subtle nod to Cloakwork’s own journey, the design celebrates the humble origins that laid the foundation for his artistic career.

SOURCE: SKECHERS

Built around the energy of city streets, this design features a scooter carrying a delivery box tagged “SKECH VIBE” in Cloakwork’s signature graffiti lettering, with “CLOAK” tagged beside it, his own graffiti signature. Trailing from the scooter like exhaust, a puffed graffiti cloud spells out “SKECHERS” in lavender bubble lettering, drifting off the back as it rides. A grey walking shoe stands in for the scooter’s front kickstand, a comical touch that keeps the whole scene light.

Built around the rhythm and motion of dance, this design features two sneaker-character mascots strutting side by side, one in pink, one in navy, music notes swirling around them and a comic-style “SKECH VIBE” burst exploding overhead. Their laces reach out and hold hands, a small detail that reads as a couple out for the night, while the purple sneaker carries a Y2K media player to keep the beat going. Between them, a Skechers road sign doubles as a disco ball. Playful and full of energy, the design gives the shoe’s everyday stride a dance-floor spin.

SOURCE: SKECHERS

The hero piece of the collaboration, this design puts Cloakwork himself in the frame, a cartoon self-portrait, cap on, spray can in hand, caught mid-tag against a brick wall shaped into the Skechers “S.” Available in Snow White and Black Beauty, crafted in 100% Cotton, it’s designed to pair easily with any of the four tees, rounding out the capsule as its everyday carry piece.

Now available for a limited time only, the SkechVibe x Cloakwork Collection is available at RM139 at selected Skechers concept stores, including 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Pavilion KL, Suria KLCC, The Exchange TRX Mall and more.

Massive Attack Banned From Singapore After Pro-Palestinian Display at Concert

British trip-hop legends Massive Attack have been officially barred from re-entering Singapore after waving a Palestine flag onstage and reportedly led the audience in chants of “Free Palestine”. The actions immediately triggered an official inquiry by Singaporean authorities regarding political demonstration and foreign symbol regulations.

Following a joint investigation by the Singapore Police Force and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA)—conducted in consultation with the Attorney-General’s Chambers—authorities issued official “stern warnings” to both musicians.

The police cited potential offenses under Section 3 of the Foreign National Emblems (Control of Display) Act and Section 16 of the Public Order Act. Singapore strictly prohibits the public display of foreign national emblems or flags without prior government permits. The IMDA confirmed that the venue organizers breached licensing conditions by allowing political causes and foreign flags to be highlighted onstage. Consequently, the media regulator announced it will automatically reject any future performance applications for the group in the country.

Singaporean officials reiterated that strict limitations on political expression and public demonstrations are essential to maintain internal social and religious harmony. The government has consistently restricted public gatherings and foreign symbol displays tied to the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.

The display at the Star Theatre aligns with Massive Attack’s long-standing history of vocal political activism. The Bristol-formed collective has repeatedly utilized its global platform and visual stage production to voice support for Palestinian human rights and criticize international military conflicts.
