Bode Miller's 3-Year-Old Son Hospitalized For Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Paul Archuleta/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images

Bode Miller’s 3-year-old son Asher was recently hospitalized for carbon monoxide poisoning, according to a since-deleted Instagram post from the Olympic skier. The father of five explained in the post that there had been a construction crane parked in the family’s driveway, and all of his children with wife Morgan Miller were ill because of it. Especially his 3-year-old son Asher.

Miller, who shares Asher and his twin brother Aksel along with 7-year-old son Nash, 4-year-old son Easton, and 19-month-old Scarlet with wife Morgan, explained this week that little Asher had been treated in the hospital after being exposed to carbon monoxide.

“Despite keeping the kids inside for obvious safety reasons, the little ones got really sick from it,” Miller wrote on Instagram on Thursday, per People. “Asher ended up in the hospital with carbon monoxide poisoning. All are well now, but passing along as a reminder to all parents of the dangers of carbon monoxide. Reminder to go test your CO detectors.”

Exposure to carbon monoxide (CO) can result in symptoms of headache, dizziness, weakness, upset stomach, vomiting, chest pain, and confusion, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The colorless, odorless gas can be found in fumes produced in cars, trucks, fireplaces, and furnaces, which is why carbon monoxide detectors are so important.

This is the second time Asher has been in the hospital in the past year. Last December, he was rushed by ambulance to the hospital due to a febrile seizure, a condition that happens in young children that can be brought on by fever caused by infection. Thankfully he recovered, but the experience was especially concerning for the parents after losing their 19-month-old daughter Emmy to accidental drowning in 2018. “Life is constantly walking a knife edge and it’s not something we’re unfamiliar with," Morgan Miller wrote in a December 2022 Instagram Story post, according to E! News. “Yesterday, Asher had a febrile seizure which scared us half to death.”

She went on to note that they took “that same ambulance to the same hospital we took Emmy to, but this time we got to leave with our child.” The mom of five went on to note, “I am reminded to slow down and realize life’s little gifts during this crazy holiday season because we already have everything we need. Our loved ones. Our health. And more time.”

Fortunately for the Millers, Asher recovered from both hospitalizations and are using this scary experience to share a vital reminder with fellow parents.

Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard Document Getting Stranded In Boston Airport

NBC/NBCUniversal/Getty Images

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard got stranded at Boston’s Logan International Airport recently and, like just about everything these two do, the whole ordeal was full of charming, goofy moments of haplessly earnest relatability. But... I will say I have so many questions about how this all went down. Questions like “Could Anna of Arendelle truly be subjected to this?” and “$600 for neck pillows and blankets? Really?” and “ONE toothbrush?” I promise: all these questions make sense in context.

The ordeal was captured on Bell’s Instagram Stories, pictures and a video accompanied by a written explanation. “Stranded at the Boston Airport,” The Good Place star’s posts began. “9 hours of delays and... even though @uno was helping pass the time... and playing spades of course... We made quite a home here... There were no hotels available within 50 miles…”

Shepard augmented the scene with a video showing the family set-up, which seems to have been mainly crafted by Bell... whose bum he zooms in on at the beginning of the video, because even with a stressful, 9-hour delay and the prospect of sleeping on an airport floor, men are gonna men. (No shade, really: my husband would do the exact same thing. There’s apparently one straight man in this world and a lot of us are married to him.)

Meanwhile, Bell is mom-ing hard (give me a more “mom” scenario than setting up a cozy little nest in a crisis, you can’t) by arranging a “bedroom” between bench chairs.

“How much money have you spent on blankets and neck pillows?” she asks in a later moment of the video Shepard posted, once she’s got control of the camera.

“$350, but then you went and spent a little bit more,” he replies.

They calculate that between the two they’d spent about $600 to stay at the airport. “It could have been a really nice hotel,” Shepard muses. But one place where they saved money?

“I decided to just buy one toothbrush for the whole family to share,” Shepard notes, acknowledging the irony of skimping on such a cheap item. But honestly? Such a dad move. Like... it’s nonsense but very real nonsense that I have no doubt my husband, father, grandfather, and every one of my uncles and dad-friends would do. (See again my One Straight Man theory.)

But the oasis within Logan International Airport was short-lived.

“We wanted to stay but we were kicked out...” Bell’s Instagram Story continued. “And had to find a place to stay right AFTER Dad had taken his sleep aids.”

Instagram
Yikes...

“Thankfully we found friends of friends who offered us their attics and accepted us at 1 a.m. And then took us on a hike the next morning with a lot of dogs and it was heaven. THANK U JOHN & KRISTA!!!!!”

So that’s the story, but questions remain. Like... Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard fly commercial? Did they not have access to an airport lounge? There was no way for Frozen’s Kristen Bell or Armchair Expert’s Dax Shepard to pull some strings and get a hotel room in Boston? Did Bell even attempt singing “For The First Time In Forever” to convince someone to either let her stay or get a room somewhere? Surely there’s some higher up whose daughter would have wanted to FaceTime with Anna in exchange for a hotel room...

Instagram
Was it tho...?

And then there are their hereos: John and Krista. What on Earth was their reaction when a friend called them and was like “Hey, A-list celebrity family Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are coming to your house with their kids and friends. Is that cool?”

Ultimately, this was a classic case of “all’s well that ends well,” and I’m glad it turned into kind of a cute family story, even if some of my most burning questions remain...

Old Navy Will Fully Refund School Uniforms Up To One Year

Old Navy

Every parent, in their heart of hearts, understands that children’s clothes, like childhood itself, are fleeting. Even if your kid doesn’t outgrow a particular item the minute you take off the price tag, a torn knee, a ripped sleeve, or a busted zipper are all of which is bad news for your wallet. And it’s even worse when we’re talking school uniforms! But now, Old Navy is offering a one-year guarantee for uniform styles purchased during the upcoming back-to-school season. The retailer will issue a full refund if products don’t stand up to the wear and tear of a school year.

Old Navy says this “kid-proof” guarantee means that uniform basics are designed to withstand the rigors of childhood with features like reinforced knees, secure stitching, and “flex technology” to allow clothes to stretch without stretching out. They’re also tested to withstand washing and fading, to keep your kiddo looking fresh to death in their khaki skirts and polo shirts from August to June. (Or... at least as fresh as anyone can look in khakis and a polo shirt.) And if they don’t, Old Navy will provide a full refund within one year of purchase, applicable to uniform products purchased now through Sept. 30, 2023. Just be sure to hang onto that receipt, whether you purchased the item online or in the store.

Old Navy
The Uniform Shop’s offerings can be found on the Old Navy website.

During the prime back-to-school season, all of Old Navy’s uniform basics, which fulfill most school’s uniform dress code requirements, will be priced at $15 and under. According to Statista, the average parent spends approximately $257 a year on back-to-school clothes, not including shoes. This is the second highest budget item after electronics. So it would certainly be nice if those items could last the whole year.

In recent years, more and more public schools, especially elementary schools in urban centers, are opting for uniform dress codes. Despite the fact that there are no great data to support the idea that uniforms have any particular effect on student behavior, according to data from the U.S. Department of Education, approximately 20% of all public schools have a uniform policy in place. If your child’s school falls within that statistic it’s nice to know that you can get them clothes that are built to last. And if not, you have a flexible refund policy to fall back on.

Polly Pocket 'Friends' Set

Friends may have gone off the air almost 20 years ago, but it remains in our hearts. And now, it can always be in our pocket! The beloved series has teamed up with another iconic brand, Polly Pocket, for a toy that includes teeny-tiny versions of all your favorite characters in their natural habitat: Central Perk. Could we be any more excited?

The exclusive collector compact is, naturally, shaped like an over-sized coffee cup (“which, I’m sorry, might as well have nipples on them”) and opens to reveal three main locations from the show — Central Perk, Monica and Rachel’s apartment, and Joey and Chandler’s apartment. But the nostalgia doesn’t end there; there are nine accessories and fun features that mega-fans will recognize as some of the series best moments and biggest laughs. Chandler’s pets (Yasmine and Dick), Phoebe’s guitar (she just might break into a rendition of “Smelly Cat”) and that Thanksgiving turkey. The set is available through the Mattel shop and other major retailers like Target, Walmart, and Amazon for $50.

The collab launched on July 24 in honor of International Friendship Day on July 30, which kicks off the second annual Friends Fan Week from Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. The event also features experiences, programming, giveaways, and other products to celebrate friendship and, of course, the series that ensured we can never again say the word “pivot” without frenetically shouting it.

Mattel
The main characters and sets are all featured.

And while fun can begin and end with Polly Pocket (whomst among us doesn’t love PP and her pals?), there’s more! In celebration of Friends Fan Week, The FRIENDS Experience — a unique interactive experience where fans can explore recreations of Friends sets — will host an online giveaway on Instagram (@friendstheexperience) beginning July 28.

Mattel
You’ll find lots of Easter eggs in this toy.

Didn’t win big? That’s OK: they’re also offering a ticket promo for 25% off purchases of three or more tickets to New York City; Long Beach, California; Detroit, Michigan; Brussels, Belgium; and Birmingham, U.K. locations starting on July 29 at 10 a.m. ET and running through 11:59 p.m. local time on Monday, July 31. (For more information or to purchase tickets for The FRIENDS Experience, visit www.friendstheexperience.com.)

Mattel
They’ll be there for you.

But, honestly? The nostalgia of Friends and the nostalgia of Polly Pocket is enough to get us pretty excited.

Kylie Jenner Admits She Had A Boob Job At 19 & Regrets It

MEGA/GC Images/Getty Images

The third season of The Kardashians has, in many ways, been a Kylie Jenner-heavy season. The mom of two has been opening up more and more on the Hulu series about her past, specifically about what it was like growing up in the spotlight for her. And how the pressure to look a certain way as a celebrity eventually led her to have breast augmentation surgery at the young age of 19, less than a year before she became a mom to her now 5-year-old daughter Stormi.

“You know I got my breasts done before Stormi,” she told her friend Stassie Karanikoaou during the Season 3 finale of The Kardashians. “Within six months of having Stormi — not thinking I would have a child when I was 20 — like, they were still healing.”

The Kylie Cosmetics star went on to reflect on what her body looked like at the time. “I had beautiful breasts, like natural tits. Just gorgeous, perfect size, perfect everything. And I just wish, obviously, I never got them done to begin with. I would recommend anyone who is thinking about it to wait until after children.”

In her case, Kylie, who is also mom to 1-year-old son Aire with ex-boyfriend Travis Scott, really hopes her own daughter doesn’t feel the need to change her body in the future. “Obviously I have a daughter,” she continued. “I would be heartbroken if she wanted to get her body done at 19. And she’s the most beautiful thing ever. I want to be the best mom and best example for her. And I just wish I could, like, be her and do it all differently, because I wouldn’t touch anything.”

Kylie Jenner/Instagram
Kylie Jenner admitted to getting a boob job at 19 years old, shortly before giving birth to her daughter Stormi.

Motherhood has certainly changed Kylie’s perspective on how she feels about beauty standards in general and her own body more specifically. In a recent episode of The Kardashians, she spoke to her sisters Kourtney and Khloé about comments they made about her ears as a little girl and how insecure they made her feel, even if it was unintentional. Now that Stormi has ears like her mom, she sees the beauty in them.

Kylie also spoke to her mom and sisters about addressing unrealistic beauty standards they might be perpetuating on social media, saying “I don’t want my daughter to do the things I did.” Like all moms, it’s clear that, while she regrets some past choices, Kylie Jenner simply wants the best for her kids.

Snooki & Deena's Podcast 'The Meatball Pod' Premieres In Summer 2023

Dave Kotinsky/Getty Images Entertainment

Somewhere between filming The Jersey Shore: Family Vacation and serving Sunday dinner for their families, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Deena Nicole Buckner found the time to record a podcast about all things motherhood. That’s right — the meatballs that taught us the important of GTL (gym, tan, laundry) and the perks of a little day drink are ready to dish on all the parenting topics and personal stories of their lives as moms.

Snooki and Deena announced The Meatball Pod comes out in August 2023.

Polizzi first posted about The Meatball Pod back in October 2022, and it seems like the time has finally come for its debut. In July, Buckner and Polizzi announced on Instagram that the podcast will drop its first episode on Aug. 3. You can subscribe in advance on Audioboom and Apple Podcasts.

Snooki and Deena will discuss motherhood on The Meatball Pod.

It’s not yet clear how many episodes we’ll get in the first season, but Audioboom describes the pod as a deep dive into “the true messiness of motherhood” with Deena and Snooki as your hot mess motherhood guides. Along the way, they’ll share stories from behind the scenes of The Jersey Shore and their summers in the Shore house, and interview other “notable moms,” though it’s not clear yet who their guests could be.

Deena Cortese Buckner/ Instagram

If you haven’t been an MTV viewer for many years now, let’s catch you up: both Polizzi and Buckner have thriving family lives. Polizzi and her husband, Jionni LaValle, share three children: son Lorenzo, age 10, daughter Giovanna, age 8, and son Angelo, who is 3. Buckner (formerly Deena Cortese) married husband Chris in 2017, and the pair have two sons, CJ, age 4, and Cameron, age 2. So, yeah, you could say they know a thing or two about mom life.

Snooki and Deena want to answer your parenting questions on the podcast.

If you want these guidettes’ advice on something you’re struggling with, they want to help! “We want you meatballs to call in and give us questions and tell us your meatball stories,” Snooki said on Instagram. To submit a parenting Q to the meatball moms, call 732-508-7952 and leave them a message.

Now we just have to wait, with bated breath, for them to do an episode with JWOWW.

Sinéad O’Connor's Children: The Irish Music Legend Was A Mother Of Four

{NEWPORT,

Legendary Irish musician Sinéad O’Connor died on Wednesday. She was 56 years old. The “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer left behind a legacy of advocacy, philanthropy, beautiful music, and a family who will miss her deeply.

The Irish Times first reported the singer’s death, sharing a statement from her family reading, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.” O’Connor’s cause of death has not been released at this time.

The Dublin-born singer first garnered international attention in the early ‘90s, when she performed a stunning rendition of Prince’s song “Nothing Compares 2 U.” She went on to record 10 more albums over the span of the last three decades, and became somewhat notorious for ripping up a photo of Pope John Paul II in 1992 over charges that the Catholic church covered up instances of sexual abuse of children at the time. A moment she never once regretted, as she explained in her 2021 memoir Rememberings: Scenes From My Complicated Life. “Far from the pope episode destroying my career, it set me on a path that fit me better,” she wrote at the time, per CBC News. “I’m not a pop star. I’m just a troubled soul who needs to scream into mikes now and then.”

She was more than a pop star. She was a passionate advocate for children’s rights, a staunch feminist, an outspoken supporter of refugees, and perhaps most of all, a mother of four. Here’s what you need to know about O’Connor’s children.

Jake Reynolds

Jake Reynolds was his mom's oldest son.

O’Connor was just 22 years old when she became a first-time mom and gave birth to her son Jake Reynolds in 1987. She shared Jake with then-husband and record producer John Reynolds. Jake has since gone on to have his own child, making O’Connor a grandmother. Jake has kept out of the spotlight for most of his life, but brought his child and wife along with his mother to Las Vegas in 2015 to watch her perform, according to The Independent.

Roisin Waters

O’Connor went on to marry again after her 1991 divorce from Reynolds, this time to Irish journalist John Waters. The two welcomed their daughter Roisin in 1995, before sadly separating in 1999. Young Roisin was embroiled in a bitter custody battle that left O’Connor attempting suicide, according to Biography. While she, like her older brother Jake, tends to live a private life, she sang with her mother at a concert in Iceland in 2014.

Shane Lunny

In early 2022, O’Connor’s 17-year-old son Shane Lunny, who she shared with Irish folk singer Donal Lunny, went missing from an Irish hospital. The distraught mother shared a message at the time for her missing son on social media, telling him, “My world would collapse without you. You are my heart. Please don’t stop it from beating. Please don’t harm yourself. Go to the Gardai and let’s get you to hospital.”

After police searched for the teenager for several days, he was sadly found dead, reportedly by suicide. Since then, O’Connor went on to cancel her summer 2022 tour dates. The last social media post she made before her death was a photo of her with Shane and the message, “Been living as undead night creature since. He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul. We were one soul in two halves. He was the only person who ever loved me unconditionally. I am lost in the bardo without him.”

Yeshua Bonadio

O’Connor’s youngest child, 15-year-old son Yeshua Bonadio, whom she shared with Frank Bonadio, was born in 2006. She has not shared much about her youngest child beyond a sweet photo of him winning a cake-decorating competition in 2019.

Yeshua is so young to lose a parent, as are his siblings. What a difficult time for the whole family.
