Batik Air & YeePay Partner To Drive Chinese Inbound Tourism Growth To Malaysia

Batik Air and YeePay, one of China’s leading payment service providers, have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen connectivity between China and Malaysia through integrated digital payment and air ticket distribution solutions.

The collaboration supports growing travel demand between the two countries and complements the opportunities created by the China–Malaysia mutual visa-free arrangement and Visit Malaysia 2026. It also reflects a shared commitment to making journeys to Malaysia more accessible and convenient for visitors from China, while reinforcing Batik Air’s role as a key airline connecting China with Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region.

China remains one of Malaysia’s most important tourism source markets, with visitor arrivals continuing to grow following the introduction of mutual visa-free travel. As travel habits become increasingly digital, consumers are seeking familiar payment options, convenient booking channels and a seamless experience from planning through to arrival.

Batik Air currently operates scheduled direct services from Kuala Lumpur to more than 10 destinations across China, including Shanghai and Guangzhou, providing strong connectivity for both leisure and business travellers. Through this strategic alliance, YeePay will strengthen Batik Air’s digital payment capabilities and expand its presence across China’s travel distribution network, making it easier for travellers to discover, book and visit Malaysia.

The initiative is expected to enhance the overall booking experience while supporting Batik Air’s continued growth in one of its most important international markets. It also supports Malaysia’s tourism objectives under Visit Malaysia 2026 by improving digital accessibility and encouraging stronger visitor flows from China.

Looking ahead, both parties see significant opportunities to deepen cooperation as regional connectivity continues to strengthen through closer economic ties and initiatives such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). Together, they aim to build a smarter travel ecosystem that supports sustainable tourism growth and strengthens connectivity between China, Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region.

Batik Air Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy said that China continues to be one of Malaysia’s most important tourism markets and the momentum is only getting stronger:

“In the first half of 2025 alone, Malaysia welcomed more than 2.17 million visitors from China, representing a 35.6% year-on-year increase. With Visit Malaysia 2026 on the horizon and stronger bilateral connectivity through the mutual visa-free arrangement, we see tremendous opportunities to make travel even more accessible and seamless for Chinese travellers,

This partnership with YeePay reflects our shared vision of building a smarter travel ecosystem that brings together connectivity, convenience and trusted digital services. By making it easier for Chinese travellers to access Batik Air through familiar booking channels and payment methods, we are creating a smoother travel experience while strengthening our presence in the Chinese market.

As demand for regional travel continues to grow, Batik Air will continue to invest in partnerships that enhance the customer journey, expand market access and reinforce our position as a leading airline connecting China with Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region.”

YeePay Co-Founder, Yu Chen said: “This strategic cooperation between YeePay and Batik Air marks an important milestone in YeePay’s global airline services. Backed by more than 20 years of experience in aviation and travel payments, YeePay will continue to enhance its full-scenario, multi-currency and multi-country digital travel solutions.

We look forward to working with more overseas airlines as they deepen their presence in the Chinese market. Through payment technology, we aim to support stronger travel connectivity between China and Malaysia, as well as between China and Southeast Asia, helping unlock the potential of regional tourism and build a more open and mutually beneficial aviation ecosystem.”

Too Sexualised? KATSEYE Fans Debate Lingerie Styling Choice For Girl Group

Global girl group KATSEYE has always sparked discussion for their bold stage outfits. However, a recent styling choice reignited the debate of whether the group is being oversexualised.

Earlier this month, KATSEYE unveiled their new song, “Animal”, and the accompanying music video. Following the release, the group shared photos from the music video shoot, including photos of them in lingerie. The members, minus Yoonchae (윤채), wore the red and black lingerie for a scene in the music video, which featured an appearance from actress Demi Moore.

While fans did comment on the outfit choice when the music video first came out, it wasn’t until KATSEYE shared a clearer image of them in lingerie that the public started debating. While there were many reasons for the criticism, most of the backlash was about the oversexualisation of the members.

Many fans criticised the group’s agency, HYBExGEFFEN, for repeatedly putting the members in revealing stage outfits. Some also lament the company’s decision to push a hyper-sexualised image for the group whose average age is 21. Yoonchae, the group’s youngest member, is often the only member exempted from the risqué styling.

There are also debates about whether the lingerie styling is appropriate given that the group has a large following of younger girls, most of whom are in their early teens. Some argued that it could negatively impact the underage fans and influence them to dress too mature for their age to follow KATSEYE’s stage and music video outfits.

SOURCES: TWITTER (@KATSEYEBRASIL) & INSTAGRAM (@katseyeworld)

On the opposite end, some fans defended the group and the styling choice, saying it matches the song’s overall theme. However, the members have repeatedly worn lingerie on stage, albeit redesigned to incorporate into the outfit. Some fans also said the public shouldn’t be too concerned about KATSEYE’s outfits, as long as the members are comfortable.

Of course, it’s worth noting that the criticism about the revealing outfits comes from good intentions. Hopefully, KATSEYE’s agency will consider fans’ concerns. What are your thoughts on this? In the meantime, check out the group’s outfit in the “Animal” music video below:

Singer D4vd To Go On Trial Over Murder Of Teenager Found In His Car

Nearly a year after police found a decomposing body in his abandoned car, American singer D4vd will go to trial for murder. The “Romantic Homicide” singer is accused of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Earlier this week, Los Angeles Judge Charlaine Olmedo ruled that there is enough evidence to put D4vd on trial for the killing and dismemberment of Celeste. Over the past few days, the singer, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has been in the preliminary hearing for his involvement in the case.

SOURCES: TWITTER (@Complex & @PopBase)

To recap, back in September 2025, police found the teenager’s decomposing and dismembered body in an abandoned Tesla that belonged to D4vd. Forensic investigations suggest that Celeste died several months before. During the hearing, prosecutors alleged that she died on 23rd April 2025 after D4vd fatally stabbed her.

After months of investigation, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office formally charged D4vd in April 2026 with first-degree murder, sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains. As D4vd’s preliminary hearing went on, more and more claims against the singer emerged.

According to reports, D4vd allegedly impregnated Celeste when she was 13 and forced her to get an abortion. Authorities believed that the singer had killed the teen because she threatened to expose him for having a sexual relationship with a minor, which would destroy his rising music career. After fatally stabbing her, he allegedly dismembered her body using a chainsaw.

SOURCES: TWITTER (@sweatermeather & @Complex)

D4vd is due to appear in court on 31st August 2026 (Monday) for his arraignment. The judge has ordered the murder trial to begin within 90 days, or as soon as 60 days, from the arraignment date. If convicted as charged, the singer faces the death penalty or life in state prison without the possibility of parole.

The star has pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Shockingly, when the judge issued her ruling, D4vd reportedly showed no emotions, watching calmly and intently as he had throughout the proceedings. Reports say he appeared stoic even when the prosecutors presented evidence of his relationship with Celeste.

Online, netizens have shared their reactions to the case, mostly expressing horror at the new details and evidence. For now, we can only wait for the trial to proceed to find out what will happen to D4vd. Regardless, we hope justice will prevail for Celeste.

In the video, the two dancers showed off their impeccable skills, hitting every move with ease. It’s also worth noting that the two were dressed casually, with San wearing a fitted black t-shirt and Momo wearing a black tank top. However, the outfit choice accentuated their physique, making their sharp dance moves more apparent.

Within 12 hours, the video has amassed over 3 million views on TikTok and 8 million on Instagram, highlighting the public’s interest in San and Momo’s collaboration. The comment sections were filled with ATINYs (ATEEZ fans) and ONCEs (TWICE fans) reacting to the video, unsurprisingly ecstatic over the collaboration.

Many quipped that they were hooked right from the beginning, when San’s broad shoulders easily covered Momo’s entire frame. Along with praises for their complementary dance moves, fans and netizens also praised the two stars’ visuals, with some joking that the entire video is a feast for the eyes.

Since ATEEZ’s comeback in late June, many have taken part in the dance challenge. One of San’s fancams from the comeback has also gained over 2 million views, highlighting a broader interest in the choreography. However, despite many other male idols trying to replicate San’s viral dance break, many fans quipped that no one has been able to outdo the original.

Of course, San and Momo’s collaboration will only add to the virality of “BAD”, bringing more attention to the song and the choreography. What are your thoughts on the two idols’ take on the dance challenge? In the meantime, check out the “BAD” music video and San’s viral fancam below:
