Avengers: Endgame has officially reclaimed its position as the highest-grossing film in cinematic history, surpassing James Cameron’s sci-fi blockbuster Avatar at the global box office. The Marvel Studios epic achieved the milestone following the successful theatrical run of Avengers Endgame: Encore, a special re-release cut that generated $126 million globally, pushing the film’s total lifetime earnings to an estimated $2.926 billion against Avatar’s $2.924 billion total.
The theatrical re-issue was strategically orchestrated by Disney and Marvel Studios to build momentum ahead of December’s upcoming release of Avengers: Doomsday. Positioned as essential viewing by directors Joe and Anthony Russo, the Encore edition enticed audiences back to theaters by pairing the 2019 Infinity Saga finale with four minutes of exclusive new footage that directly sets up the events of the upcoming installment.
This latest turn at the top marks another chapter in the ongoing box office rivalry between the two franchise giants, both of which now operate under the Disney corporate banner. Endgame originally took the lead from Avatar during its initial theatrical run in 2019, only for James Cameron’s epic to reclaim the top spot following a strategic theatrical re-release in 2021 ahead of its sequel.
Regardless of whatever big-screen giant takes the top place, Disney is celebrating. Disney currently controls 20th Century Fox, which produced “Avatar,” following their merger in 2019. Disney is in charge of seven of the top ten most grossing films, including “Avatar: The Way of Water” ($2.33 billion), “Titanic” ($2.26 billion), and “Avengers: Infinity War” ($2.05 billion), thanks to Fox’s film assets.
Driven by strong international performance and eager fan participation, Avengers: Endgame now holds the title as the highest-earning film of all time, both in its initial run and when accounting for cumulative theatrical re-releases.
A record-breaking crowd of 261,000 spectators descended upon the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit across the 2026 F1 Bahrain Grand Prix weekend, shattering the venue’s previous all-time attendance benchmark.
Nearly two decades after Sepang recorded its prior high of 157,219 fans in 2007, the temporary relocation of the Bahrain event to Malaysia saw overwhelming spectator turnout, setting a new historical milestone for motor racing in the region.
The record-setting crowd witnessed a chaotic, rain-hit race that was delayed by over 90 minutes due to torrential downpours at the circuit.Red Bull’s Max Verstappen capitalized on his pole position to secure his first victory of the 2026 season.
Despite losing his initial lead off the start line to Mercedes’ championship leader Kimi Antonelli, Verstappen reclaimed control as conditions evolved, leading the field across a dramatic final stint to claim his first grand prix win since the final round of the previous season.Antonelli finished second to extend his driver standings lead to 84 points, while Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton rounded out the podium in third.
During Sky Sports’ pre-race grid walk, Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim spoke with commentator Martin Brundle, confirming that discussions are actively underway to bring Formula 1 back to Malaysia on a permanent basis.
Standing drenched on the Sepang grid following the torrential downpour that delayed the start, a smiling Anwar expressed his enthusiasm for the event, telling Brundle, “You see, I’m wet, drenched, but am very excited. You see, the entire country is rejoicing”.
When asked directly about a potential full-time return for the Malaysian Grand Prix beyond this weekend’s one-off hosting arrangement, Anwar acknowledged ongoing talks, noting, “Well, I’m looking forward to it. We’re discussing”.However, he emphasized that the cabinet will need to carefully evaluate the economic feasibility, the estimated RM300 million annual hosting cost, and calendar availability before finalizing any multi-year agreement.
The fan-favorite track didn’t disappoint supporters across the globe with this race weekend, with many hoping that it could make a swift, permanent return to the calendar.
Shanghai Watch introduces the Originate Fangyu Collection (致敬·æ–¹éš…), a new mechanical watch series inspired by the architecture of The Bund City Hall Plaza, one of Shanghai’s historic landmarks.
Drawing from the building’s enclosed courtyard and distinctive architectural profile, Fangyu translates its geometry into a compact 38mm square case. Defined edges meet subtly curved corners, creating a silhouette that feels structured without appearing rigid – an idea captured by the collection’s guiding phrase, “The Great Square Has No Corners.”
The architectural influence continues across the dial. Fine decorative textures reference details found within the historic building, while slender baton markers, sword-shaped hour and minute hands, and a lollipop seconds hand introduce a restrained neo-classical character. A date window at 3 o’clock completes the everyday functionality.
Constructed from 316L stainless steel, Fangyu is fitted with a flat sapphire crystal and offers 5 ATM water resistance. The watches are paired with soft Alcantara® straps, providing a contemporary contrast to the sculptural geometry of the case.
Inside is Shanghai Watch’s ST2130 automatic mechanical movement, offering approximately 42 hours of power reserve and visible through a transparent exhibition case back.
The collection is offered in four interpretations: green, grey, burgundy and white. The burgundy model distinguishes itself with a warm rose-gold-tone case, while the remaining versions highlight the natural character of stainless steel.
More than an exercise in geometric design, Fangyu reflects the relationship between Shanghai Watch and the city whose name it carries. Architecture becomes case form, historical details become decoration, and a familiar Shanghai landmark is reinterpreted as a contemporary mechanical watch.
The Shanghai Watch Originate Fangyu Collection is available through Red Army Watches Malaysia at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and 1 Utama Shopping Centre, and online atwww.redarmywatches.com.my.

Winter is coming but this time, it is arriving in summer! The world of Westereos is officially heading to cinemas, with the first Game of Thrones movie, Aegon’s Conquest, scheduled for release on 6th June 2029.
After 8 seasons of Game of Thrones and two spin-off series, fans will finally get to experience George R.R. Martin’s fantasy world on the big screen. And this time, the story is taking us back several centuries to explore the beginnings of one of Westeros’ most famous royal families.
A Journey Back to The Beginning of House Targaryen
While details about the film remain limited, Aegon’s Conquest will reportedly follow Aegon I, the founder of Targaryen dynasty and his conquest of Westeros centuries before the events of the original television series.
For fans familiar with Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke, the film will offer a look at the history of the royal family that eventually produced the Mother of Dragons.

Although several members of the Targaryen family have appeared throughout the franchise, Aegon I himself has never been seen on screen. His casting has also yet to be announced, leaving fans with plenty to look forward to as more details emerge.
Familiar Names Are Bringing Westeros to Cinemas
The upcoming film will be directed by Owen Harris, who is already familiar with the Game of Thrones universe. He serves as an executive producer of HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and directed several episodes of its first season.
His previous work also includes episodes of Black Mirror, the 2019 remake of The Twilight Zone and Brave New World, starring Alden Ehrenreich.

The screenplay will be written by Beau Wilimon, who previously served as showrunner of Netflix’s House of Cards and worked as a writer on Disney+’s Star Wars series Andor.
With both filmmakers bringing experience from major television production, Aegon’s Conquest marks a new chapter for the franchise as it makes its move from television to cinemas.
More ‘Game of Thrones’ Stories Are On The Way
Thankfully, fans will not have to wait until 2029 for another trip to Westeros. HBO’s House of the Dragon, which explores the Targaryen family’s history, is set to return for a fourth season. Meanwhile, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has already been renewed for a second season.
Both series continued to explore the world created by George R.R. Martin, whose bestselling fantasy novels inspired the original Game of Thrones television series.

The original show ran for eight seasons between 2011 and 2019 becoming a major television success and winning numerous Emmy Awards.
With two spin-off series continuing on television and Aegon’s Conquest heading to cinemas, there is plenty of Westeros left to explore. The countdown to 6th June 2029 has officially begun!
During the “Lebaran” (Hari Raya Aidilfitri) festive season in 2027, families in Indonesia and Singapore can discover a new way to enjoy a holiday together – by sailing between Jakarta and Singapore.
StarCruises will introduce special 4 Night round-trip cruises between Jakarta (via Tanjung Priok) and Singapore aboard the Star Voyager, with departures from Jakarta on 7 and 11 March 2027, and from Singapore on 5, 9 and 13 March 2027. Timed around the “Lebaran” holiday period, the sailings offer families, friends and loved ones in both markets a new way to spend more time together, enjoy a holiday at sea and explore a new destination, whether sailing from Jakarta to Singapore or Singapore to Jakarta.
Rather than arranging flights, accommodation, meals and activities separately, guests can enjoy many elements of their holiday in one place. From the comfort of their own cabin and onboard dining to entertainment, activities and time together at sea, the cruise offers an easy and enjoyable way for families to make the most of the festive break.
“We are delighted to offer travellers from Indonesia and Singapore a new way to celebrate the Lebaran festive season, bringing families and loved ones together for a holiday filled with quality time, shared experiences and discovery,” said Michael Goh, President of StarDream Cruises. “Guests can enjoy the ease and comfort of a cruise holiday, with halal dining options, live entertainment and plenty of activities to enjoy together. We hope these special sailings will inspire more families in both markets to discover cruising as a memorable way to spend their festive break.”

For many Muslims, “Lebaran” is a time for family, togetherness and taking a well-earned break. This year, families can consider something different from the usual holiday – setting sail together and making the journey part of the celebration.
With Star Voyager, guests can board in Jakarta or Singapore and settle into their holiday without the need to change hotels or pack and unpack as they travel. During the cruise, families can spend time together over meals, enjoy live entertainment and take part in activities onboard, before arriving at their destination ready to explore.
Those sailing from Jakarta can discover Singapore, from shopping along Orchard Road and exploring Gardens by the Bay to visiting Sentosa and experiencing the city’s diverse food and family attractions. For guests sailing from Singapore, Jakarta offers a chance to experience Indonesia’s vibrant capital, with its shopping, dining, culture and city attractions.
After exploring their destination, guests simply return to the ship and sail back to their starting point, making for a convenient round-trip holiday experience.
Halal Dining for a More Comfortable Family Holiday
For families celebrating “Lebaran”, food is an important part of the holiday experience. Star Voyager offers a variety of Asian flavours and international dining choices, together with a dedicated halal dining section at the Lido restaurant onboard. This gives Muslim guests greater convenience when planning their meals throughout the cruise and allows families and groups to enjoy their holiday together with greater peace of mind.
Something for Everyone in the Family

One of the advantages of cruising is that everyone can enjoy the same holiday in their own way. Families can come together for live international stage performances, a glamorous Red-Carpet Gala evening with the Captain and international entertainers, music and dancing, BBQ parties and relaxing spa experiences. Younger guests can make the most of the pool and waterslides, zipline and wall climbing, while Little Dreamers gives them a space of their own to play, explore and have fun.
Whether it is joining in the fun, trying something new or simply relaxing together, there is something for every member of the family to enjoy throughout the cruise.
More Ways to Sail Between Jakarta and Singapore
In addition to the two special round-trip “Lebaran” sailings from Jakarta, Star Voyager will offer one-way sailings between Singapore and Jakarta around the March 2027 cruises.
Before the Jakarta sailings begin, guests can take a one-way 2 Night Cruise from Singapore to Jakarta, departing on 5 March 2027. Following the final Jakarta sailing, guests can also extend their cruise experience with a one-way 2 Night Cruise from Jakarta to Singapore, departing on 15 March 2027.
These additional sailings offer greater flexibility for travellers who would like to sail from Singapore to Jakarta or from Jakarta to Singapore, whether as part of a longer holiday or a different way to travel between the two cities.
With StarCruises, this “Lebaran” season, the holiday can begin a little differently with the family together, the sea ahead and Singapore and Jakarta waiting along the way.

From hiking trails to city streets, Salomon sneakers have become a favourite among fashion lovers. Now, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is giving the popular footwear a winter-ready makeover as the face of the brand’s latest campaign. The singer and Salomon global ambassador stars in the brand’s Fall/Winter 2026 “In the Open” campaign, bringing together outdoor performance, everyday comfort, and street style. Short in South Korea, the campaign marks Jisoo’s first global campaign for Salomon since becoming its ambassador earlier this year.
Jisoo Brings Outdoor Fashion To The City
Salomon may have started as a brand known for technical hiking shoes, but its sneakers have since found their way into everyday fashion. From outdoor adventures to casual city outfits, the brand has become a familiar name among those who love practical yet stylish footwear.
For its latest campaign, Salomon brings these two worlds together with Jisoo photographed against a grassy landscape and a hazy city skyline.
The setting reflects the idea behind “In the Open,” showing how outdoor footwear can fit naturally into everyday city life.
Jisoo also shared why the brand suits her personal lifestyle, explaining she prefers light and comfortable movement throughout her day.

Three Sneakers To Take You Through Winter

XT-Whisper Gore-Tex: A winter-ready addition to the collection that combines the brand’s technical footwear roots with everyday style.
XT-4 OG Gore-TEX: Another outdoor-inspired silhouette designed for those who want to stay comfortable without compromising their look.
The collection continues Salomon’s approach of combining performance footwear with fashion, making its sneakers an option for both outdoor activities and city life.
With the campaign photographed in South Korea, Jisoo brings a familiar setting to her first global Salomon campaign. The singer previously shared that she enjoys spending her free time in Seoul visiting restaurants, discovering small cafes and listening to music. She also appreciates quieter days when she can simply relax and do nothing.
That relaxed approach fits naturally with the campaign’s focus on comfortable movement and footwear that can take you from one part of your day to another.
For fans looking to add a little Jisoo-inspired style to their wardrobe, Salomon’s Fall/Winter 2026 “In the Open” capsule launches globally on 7th October at salomon.com.
F1 spectators attending the opening practice sessions of the 2026 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit expressed widespread frustration on Friday over severe transport delays, disorganized queueing systems, and limited water access.
Attendees turned to social media platforms, including Reddit and Instagram, to criticize the lack of signage and crowd control at shuttle pickup points, reporting that thousands of fans were left stranded for hours post-track action without clear guidance from organizers.
The transport bottlenecks left crowds waiting past 8:00 PM, with some fans opting to walk along the highway shoulder all the way to KLIA 2 rather than wait for the overwhelmed shuttle buses. While fans urged event organizers to address the operational chaos ahead of Saturday’s qualifying and Sunday’s race, title sponsor Petronas previously clarified that despite holding naming rights to the circuit, it is not responsible for event operations.
Additionally, the F1 Speed account on X claimed that many spectators had passed out, shuttle lines were disorganized, and most water stations were not working.
Nicholsonstreet, a Reddit member, criticized the lengthy lines for food and water, the absence of free water refill stations, the inadequate signs and communication, and the disorganized bus schedules.
Additionally, the customer said that the trip from the circuit to the KLIA rail station took three hours, as opposed to the expected twenty minutes under typical circumstances.
“Very disappointing. The netizen remarked, “After witnessing the disorganized chaos today, I hope the organizers can fix this for the rest of the weekend.”
The Malaysian Grand Prix was held at SIC from 1999 to 2017 until being dropped from the schedule because to growing hosting and licensing expenses.
