We are spoiled for choices these days with amazing TV shows and a plethora of streaming services. So spoiled, in fact, that it can be hard to pin down exactly which services you should be signed up for and which shows to watch on them. If you’re already a Peacock subscriber, for instance, you might be getting antsy waiting for Yellowstone Season 5 to arrive on the platform. But will it ever happen? And if so, when? Here’s everything you need to know.
Which seasons of Yellowstone are streaming on Peacock right now?
Taylor Sheridan’s wildly popular modern day western Yellowstone, which follows the Dutton family under the leadership of patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner), is available to stream on Peacock right this very minute. Well, most of it, at any rate. You can watch Seasons 1 through 4 of Yellowstone on Peacock, but the fifth season is still unavailable. But it will indeed be coming to Peacock.
When will Yellowstone Season 5 come to Peacock?
Peacock has not offered a release date for Season 5 of Yellowstone, but the fifth season could realistically be available to stream within a month or so after the final episode airs on the Paramount Network channel. When Paramount debuted Season 4 of the series in January 2022, Peacock made the same season available just two months later in March 2022. All 10 episodes at once, in fact.
As the first half of Yellowstone Season 5 premiered in November 2022 and the next batch of episodes set to air soon, it seems likely that Peacock subscribers will get to watch the new season before the end of 2023.
Why isn’t Yellowstone streaming on Paramount+?
Even though Sheridan’s popular Dutton family spin-offs like 1923 and 1883 are available to stream on Paramount+, Peacock currently has exclusive streaming rights to Yellowstone. That’s because Yellowstone premiered in 2018 before the Paramount Network’s streaming platform, Paramount+, launched in 2021. And Yellowstone will reportedly remain on Peacock for quite some time. Screenrant reports that Peacock “will retain the rights to the series until four years after the final episode airs.”
Where can you watch Yellowstone Season 5 right now?
You can watch the first eight episodes of Yellowstone Season 5 on the Paramount Network channel, not Paramount+, so you will need a cable subscription to watch the first half of the latest season. Don’t have cable? You can snag a free 24-hour viewing pass through the network or sign up for Philo or SlingTV, which both offer free trials.
You can also purchase Yellowstone Season 5 on Amazon Prime for $39.99. That includes Part 1 and Part 2, but only the first eight episodes are currently available to stream.
When will the second half of Yellowstone Season 5 premiere?
The next six episodes will air in Summer 2023, though no exact date has been announced yet. (However, some outlets have reported that it could be as soon as June 2023, so fingers crossed!)
