Kilian Paris launches its first Chypre fragrance, named 'Her Majesty'. Kilian Hennessy, Founder and Creative Director, drew inspiration from the ephemeral yet beautiful cherry blossoms he encountered in Japan, transforming their aesthetic into a unique olfactory narrative.
A few years ago, Kilian Hennessy visited Japan and while walking along Kyoto's Philosopher's path, he was captivated by the sight of cherry blossoms in the breeze, their petals scattering like snow. Upon returning to his atelier, he set out to capture the vision – its elegance and strength – and translate it into a fragrance.
With 'Her Majesty', the brand introduces its first Chypre – a modern reinterpretation in which Kilian Hennessy uses contrast to convey emotions. Created in collaboration with perfumer Caroline Dumur, the new masterpiece joins the Narcotics olfactive family.
To compose 'Her Majesty', Kilian Hennessy first selected ambrette seed for its soft texture, rose for elegance, cedarwood for structure, and Cyperus and oakmoss to add depth. An aquatic note was inspired by the stream along Kyoto's Philosopher's path, while a delicate whisper of peach evokes the light, fruity aspect of cherry blossoms.
Each of the ingredients layered into the fragrance was composed with meticulous precision, harmonising a scent where contrast and emotion resonate together.
'Her Majesty' is available in 50ml (RM 1,510) and 7.5ml (RM 280) and can be purchased at escentials stores and online at escentials.my.
