Congratulations are in order for composer Joy Ngiaw! The Pahang-born artiste recently made history after becoming the first Malaysian to win an Emmy Award for her work on Apple TV+'s "WondLa" series.
News outlets recently reported about Joy's win at the 4th Annual Children's & Family Emmy Awards, which took place at Lincoln Center in New York City on 1st and 2nd March 2026. The Children's & Family Emmy Awards are a part of the extensive range of the Emmy Awards for artistic and technical merit. The Emmy is also considered one of the four major annual entertainment awards in America, alongside the Grammy, the Oscar and the Tony.

Joy won the Outstanding Music Direction and Composition for an Animated Program category for her work on the second season of "WondLa". The 31-year-old has been composing the score for all three seasons of the series. The score for the first season, released in 2024, also received an Annie Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement for Music in an Animated Television/Media Production.
The Emmy is just another addition to Joy's growing list of accolades and recognition. In 2024, the composer was named a BAFTA Breakthrough USA honoree. She also previously won the Best Music Award at the Hollywood Music in Media for her score for "Blush". IndieWire also featured her score for "WondLa" in their "Best TV Scores of the Year, According to Our Composers Survey" list, alongside the scores for "Severance" and "The White Lotus".
As for her other works, Joy is also the composer for the recently released American romantic comedy, "Solo Mio", starring Kevin James. We extend our congratulations to Joy, and we hope to see her continue to achieve more success in the future.
