Calling all Ghibli fans! This October, experience iconic soundtracks from beloved Studio Ghibli films through the vibrant sounds of jazz. For the first time ever in Malaysia, the legendary All That Jazz, the jazz ensemble born from a direct commission by Studio Ghibli themselves, will grace the stage of Zepp Kuala Lumpur for one magical evening on 24th October 2026.
Rather than a tribute act or a casual cover show, All That Jazz were the artists Studio Ghibli entrusted to reimagine the studio's most beloved soundtracks, the immortal works of composer Joe Hisaishi, through the intimate, sophisticated lens of jazz. The result was "Ghibli Jazz" (2009) and "Ghibli Jazz 2" (2010), genre-defining albums that sold out on their first pressing, earned worldwide critical acclaim, and are now streamed by listeners across more than 140 countries.
Titled 'Ghibli Jazz Night', All That Jazz will lead audiences gently through the emotional geography of Hayao Miyazaki's greatest films. Piano, bass, drums, saxophone, and the ethereal voice of Yuriko Kuwahara will breathe new life into melodies you thought you already knew by heart.
Stripped to their acoustic essence yet amplified by the warmth and spontaneity of live jazz, these pieces reveal depths that even dedicated fans will encounter for the first time. The setlist spans the full breadth of the Ghibli universe, including cherished classics such as:
- "One Summer's Day", "Spirited Away"
- "The Merry-Go-Round of Life", "Howl's Moving Castle"
- "The Path of Wind" & "My Neighbor Totoro", "My Neighbor Totoro"
- "A Town with an Ocean View", "Kiki's Delivery Service"
- "Carrying you", "Castle in the Sky"
- "County Road", "Whisper of the Heart"
- More beloved classics spanning "Nausicaä", "Princess Mononoke", "Arrietty", and beyond
