It appears that NCT (엔시티) will face another line-up change after rumours that another member is leaving the group. Winwin (윈윈), who also goes by Dong Si Cheng (董思成), has reportedly signed with a new agency, sparking claims that he’s leaving SM Entertainment and his group.
Earlier this week, Chinese news outlets reported that Winwin has signed with Zhaosen Entertainment for his activities in China. The entertainment company, founded by Nie Xinyuan (聂新源), currently represents stars such as He Shiyu (合诗雨) and Wang Ding (王丁). Understandably, this new move sparked discussion about Winwin’s status with SM Entertainment and NCT.
The 28-year-old debuted in NCT in 2016 as part of the NCT U (엔시티U) and NCT 127 (엔시티127) roster, later joining WayV (威神V) in 2019. Winwin then shifted his focus to acting, pausing his NCT and WayV activities. Despite his absence from group activities and comebacks, SM Entertainment previously clarified that the idol remains part of the group.
However, Winwin was notably absent from NCT’s 10th anniversary pop-up, with none of his photos or merchandise on display or for sale. His groupmate, Ten (텐), was also part of the event, despite announcing his departure from SM Entertainment in April. Along with the rumours of his new agency, fans now suspect that Winwin has quietly left the company and NCT.
It’s also worth noting that most NCT members who debuted in 2016 have begun contract renewal discussions with their agency because their contracts expire this year. Mark (마크) previously announced his departure from SM Entertainment and NCT, thus explaining his absence from the group’s 10th anniversary plans.
Despite claims that Winwin has left SM Entertainment and NCT, fans have expressed support for the rumoured move. Many also argued that it’s a better choice for his career, especially with his growing popularity as an actor. However, many had hoped that the singer or the company would issue an official announcement, rather than staying silent on the matter.
For now, everything remains a rumour until SM Entertainment or Winwin confirms the news. Nevertheless, we wish the singer-turned-actor all the best in his future.
