Awards season discussions are officially getting interesting.
While fans have spent years campaigning for actors like Antony Starr and Karl Urban to receive Emmy recognition for their performances in The Boys, a growing number of viewers are now calling for another cast member to receive a nomination: Terror the bulldog.
The beloved canine character, portrayed by the late Bentley Alexander, has become the centre of a light-hearted campaign among fans who believe he deserves recognition for his memorable appearances throughout the hit superhero series.
The Goodest Boy In The Seven’s Universe
For those unfamiliar, Terror is Billy Butcher’s loyal bulldog and one of the few constants in the anti-hero’s chaotic life.
Although the character has had limited screen time compared to the show’s main cast, Terror quickly became a fan favourite thanks to his unwavering loyalty, comedic moments, and emotional connection to Butcher.
Following the release of The Boys’ final season, social media users began sharing posts joking that Bentley Alexander delivered one of the year’s most memorable performances and should be considered for an Emmy nomination.
Some fans even suggested he deserved a nod over several human actors.
Remembering Bentley Alexander
The renewed attention also comes after the passing of Bentley Alexander, the bulldog who portrayed Terror on the series.
Part of the renewed affection for Terror also stems from his heartbreaking fate in the series. His death in the final season proved to be one of the show’s most emotional moments, prompting an outpouring of reactions from fans who were devastated to see one of The Boys’ most beloved characters leave the screen for good.
In 2025, The Boys paid tribute to the canine actor in an emotional social media post, describing him as a cast member who “warmed our hearts every time he came on screen as Terror.”
The tribute prompted an outpouring of support from fans and cast members alike, many of whom shared their favourite memories of Bentley’s appearances on the show.
A Fan Campaign Fuelled By Love
The calls for Emmy recognition are, of course, largely tongue-in-cheek. Animals are not eligible for acting categories at the Emmy Awards, meaning Bentley Alexander would not actually qualify for a Best Actor nomination.
Still, the campaign reflects just how much the character resonated with audiences.
Many viewers have praised Terror’s scenes for providing rare moments of warmth in a series otherwise known for its violence, dark humour, and shocking twists.
For some fans, the bulldog became one of the show’s most unexpectedly beloved characters.
An Emmy Nomination? Probably Not.
Will Terror actually receive a Best Actor Emmy nomination? Unfortunately, no.
But if fan enthusiasm counts for anything, Bentley Alexander may have already won the most important award of all: becoming one of the most beloved animals in television history.
And in a show filled with superheroes, supervillains, and world-ending chaos, that’s no small achievement.
