While Julian Cheung (张智霖) and Anita Yuen (袁咏仪)’s son Morton (张慕童) is mostly away from the spotlight, the 20-year-old does occasionally make an appearance in public alongside his parents. Recently, the university student appeared at an event with his father, sporting a bold new look.
Last weekend, Julian and Morton enjoyed some quality father-and-son time together, attending Hong Kong magician Louis Yan’s show at the Hong Kong Coliseum. As Morton is currently attending university in London, his appearance at the event gave the public a rare glimpse at his recent life.
In footage captured by netizens, Morton appeared in casual attire, wearing a plaid shirt over a white tee with light blue jeans. Meanwhile, his father Julian also sported a T-shirt-and-jean combo, but paired it with a jacket. Despite keeping a low profile, both Morton and Julian still attracted the public’s attention.
Notably, Morton sparked interest with his new hairstyle. The 20-year-old, who previously sported a softer Korean-inspired hairstyle, now has a buzzcut, instantly transforming his image. Many netizens noted that the look gave him a more masculine charm, especially paired with his tall figure.
Interestingly, netizens also noted that Morton’s look and his demeanour reminded them of one of Julian’s past roles. Many said he looked strikingly similar to Man Cho (文初) from TVB’s “Return of the Cuckoo (十月初五的月光)”, thanks to his hairstyle and walking posture. Some fans even quipped that seeing Morton evoked memories from the 2000 drama.
While Morton may have the looks to start an acting career, the public may never see him on television or in movies. In a recent interview, Anita quipped that her son won’t enter the entertainment industry because he’s too shy. The actress even frankly said that Morton doesn’t have the talent to be on camera.
It’s a shame that Morton may never make his acting debut since the public has already expressed interest in his good looks. However, we’re sure his parents know him best and are ready to support him no matter what he does.
