Malaysian fans of Chinese drama are in for another star-studded encounter. iQIYI International, Asia’s leading streaming platform, has officially announced that iQIYI STARSHIP 2026 will make its second stop in Malaysia on Sunday, 13th September 2026, at Sunway Velocity Mall, Kuala Lumpur, featuring iQIYI International Global Ambassador Cheng Lei (丞磊). This will mark his first-ever appearance in Malaysia, giving local audiences the chance to meet the actor behind some of the region’s most-watched Chinese dramas in person.
Known for his popular Chinese dramas “How Dare You!? (成何体统)”, “Legend of the Female General (锦月如歌)” and “My Journey to You (云之羽)”, Cheng Lei has built a strong international following with his captivating performances across several acclaimed Chinese dramas.
Most recently, “How Dare You!?” became one of the most popular Chinese-language dramas globally in Q1 2026, quickly climbing to the top ranks of iQIYI’s global Chinese drama charts after its release. The series continues to draw audience attention through its novel blend of time travel, political intrigue, and romance, along with Cheng Lei’s portrayal of Xiahou Dan (Zhang San), a role notable for its striking contrast in character. In last year’s “Shadow Love (与晋长安)”, he further showcased his range by taking on three distinct roles in a single production, earning widespread praise for his nuanced performances.
